You have me excited!! I'm going to close on a house in October 2017 and the kitchen floors are those ugly black & white squares.. I don't make enough to hire a professional to renovate certain areas.. I want it all vinyl wood look. I just seen I can use another type of tiles for my bathroom walls which are that ugly pink. It was build in 1954.. I Love how you did your floors.. Gives me joy to see what I can do in my house. Thank you!!

@almcallister64905 жыл бұрын
Teresa...I read about you not straight walls...I would suggest you look into this....I don't want to scare you but you need to make sure your problem is not a developing sink hole or a serious defect in your foundation...it maybe nothing but it is better to know and fix it than maybe come home one day and find a sink hole has swallowed part of your house..here in Baltimore a sink hole a couple of year ago swallowed almost a dozen cars...so it won't to make sure you don't any thing like that going under your house
@teresahaven92225 жыл бұрын
@@almcallister6490 I appreciate your words of advice. We are in a "remodeled" manufactured home. It is a joke in our house about the person that did the "remodel". A "family friend" who happened to be a bonded contractor that just slapped everything together as cheap as he could. The person that actually owned the house back then refused to sue. So we know the root of the problem. To let you know, I am not being snooty towards you or anything. I have used KZbin to fix a lot of issues in the things I am doing!!!! Thanks for looking out for me!!!

@@teresahaven9222 I know about the problems with manufactured homes I have a mobile home and also very familiar with home improvement (remodeling) contractors..most are looking for a quick buck and don't care about doing good work. I have been working on this place that got from a woman I know and knew the work her son (one of those experts ) did here. My father was a lifelong cabinet maker and built the house I grew up in (70 years ago ) it is still standing and as good as the day (years) the built it. The sub floors are 3/8" instead of 1/2" the studs are 2" X 3" and to make it worse they are stapled in place not nailed. I could go on but I think you get the picture.;

Thansk Araceli for the taking the time to answer. Actually, what I meant to ask is that when you walk on the vnyle floor, does it feel "normal"? or does it feel like you are waking on unstable flooring material, like carpet or something.
@AraceliChanDIY7 жыл бұрын
Oh haha, my bad. It feels normal to me. I have laminate, carpet and this vinyl throughout my house. Obviously there is a difference between all of them. Laminate is floating floor, so there's like a cushy feel to it, I can't describe very well. This vinyl flooring does not feel unstable at all. It's a very small area... 25 sq ft to be exact, but it feels very sturdy. As far as looks, this floor is sooo much prettier and appealing than the laminate to be honest. It looks more expensive also. Hope this helps!

Great job!! Looks so nice ! I have a quick question , does water get in between the cracks and cause it to peel back any? I have 6 kids and several cats and am wanting to rip all my carpet out because I can not keep up with shampooing it constantly due to being sick and disabled with Lupus . They get alot of water in the bathrooms and I am worried it will get water in the tiny spaces between the pieces and worried it will cause it to peel . My husband nor I know much about laying flooring other than the basics so this is our best choice considering we have no tools or experience . Has it held up to spills and water ?
