I really enjoy Charmian Clift, haven't read her in ages, time to get her down off my shelves again. Thanks for the prod, & another stimulating video.

Thank you. Sounds like a very interesting book, and writer.

So kind of you to take the time to comment and say 'thanks' - it means a lot to me! Yes, this book really surprised me (I don't usually read this type of travel memoir) and I'm still thinking about it.

I never really 'got' Nolan, but a decade or so ago, the National Gallery of Australia (in Canberra) had a big retrospective, & I was blown away. It was such a joy to finally fall in love with him (& not just the Ned Kelly work). I now love that whole Angry Penguin group - phenomenal.

Ah, I haven't read George Johnston for a very long time either. My goodness, you steer me to excellent new reading projects. I went through a big stage of reading heaps of Clift & Johnston.

I've just completed a small project on Gertrude Stein. It was a lot of fun. She will be one focus in my forthcoming autobiography-in-verse where I am fixed on many Jewish writers (& the way they spin me off into so much reflection & growth). I'm having a blast!
