Great tutorial. I do want to mention the spacers should be acid free as well to avoid turning the fabric dark. Instead of popsicle sticks which are wood, you can use narrow pieces of foam core or the sticky board you used. You can also purchase clear spacers in most hobby stores.

I had the same experience with a treasured picture. I did not realize it was a spacing issue. In the framing industry they call it museum mounting. I always had my work professionally framed. Often times the framing cost more than the work but I valued the time I spent doing the needlework that I always placed a high value on the final outcome. I will now give my hand at sticky board. Your tutorials make everything so easy to learn. Thank you Laura!🪡🧵💖🌟

Personally, I never stick my X-stitch to a sticky board, since the 1969's. I will stick a thin layer of batting on the sticky of the board. I have also Ironed on non-woven interfacing, to keep stitches from unraveling from the back side, but have found the glue from the sticky board, will breakdown over time, & has discolored the few pieces I had placed against the sticky board. I have added a tiny border of complimentary fabric, or Ric-Rack, sized pleasingly, instead of using a mat board for color, the use spacers; or used flat buttons on the fabric, which can act as spacers, if evenly spaced across the design.

I use balsa Wood to keep the glass off my cross stitch. Just cut thin strips to frame the glass. You cannot tell its there any it stays in place .

This IS a very sweet poem. I've tried writing it down by repeatedly and repeatedly rewatching a certain portion of this video. However, I'm unsure about the last four lines. Would you be able to assist me, Laura? Or anyone? Thank you so much!

Scotch tape won’t last but I have used the mounting boards.

Those mounting boards are expensive. Does anyone have a good source?
