Nicely done my friend. I remember being told by the locals in Yukon that by mid August the colours change and you have the first frosts. It's such a narrow window of opportunity when riding so far up north.

2 weeks ahead of my trip my Weather Network app was calling for highs of 23 in Happy Valley-Goose Bay... Then a tropical storm came and sucked down all the arctic air. How did they not see that coming? Maybe this year I'll make it to Labrador....

Season ends up there after Labour Day. There are camp sites, motels and hotels everywhere and they are all on the coast... And that late in the season it will all be yours. I was alone for most of the ride. You can't go wrong with Gaspé.

That's why myself and my girlfriend are headed up there so late...no to deal too much with traffic, issues with hotels etc...just drive and stop wherever we want...no real itinerary. Great story telling through this video. Looking forward to the next instalment. As for cold weather riding being prepared is key as the right gear makes all the difference. I rode across Canada in temps from -7C to a balmy -3C (before windchill). The winner for winter rides - Look up The Brokentooth Project on youtube. Did a trip around the Gaspe on the trail system a couple years ago on my 500exc, great trip, worth going back.

Broken tooth is the best. I love his rides. Testicles made of metal, that's for sure... I think I watched your video of your trip.... I watched it after I got back though, lol. I'll have to go back and ride the trails. and have to go back and attempt Labrador again. I should have been better prepped for sure. I brought a hoodie.... I was expecting warmer weather... Almost hit some geese that were crossing on that road going up that hill at 4:54. I did Labrador September 2016 and I really lucked out relatively with the weather. It got as cold as you think it does in September, but thankfully it only rained on my last day there. Sounds like you've done another great adventure once your plans changed though! I hope to do Gaspe some day!

Gaspe was beautiful. I highly recommend it. I should have been better prepped for the trip... I was expecting warmer weather. HV Goose Bay was supposed to be 14-15 all week... But then a tropical storm brought some bad weather our way. Oh well.... Gaspe turned out awesome.

@@Peeohtrek I was just happy I found time to prepare for the weather. Was working in Ottawa the month leading up to it and bought most of my gear there. Though, I did have to find an extra pair of PJs before I left Baie Commeau. I hope you get to go up that way soon.

Nice trip and good footage ! But honestly, towards Gaspé, you were not heading south, you were heading north-east !
@Peeohtrek3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you're right, the direction I was heading after the ferry was North East toward Gaspé. I do say East when referring to it in the video it but it's North East. What I was trying to convey is that I'm not heading further North and that I'm turning around and heading "South" towards warmer weather and home. Even that is off as home really is South East. Wish I had a team of people catching my mistakes during the editing precess, lol. I make lots of them. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feed back and dialogue. In the future I will be more aware of my directions, I'm sure it will be clearer that way. Cheers.

That KTM was brand new when I had it and it didn’t really burn any. Only a slight amount when I was driving at highway speeds in high revs… currently I have a 2016, and that thing burns it when pushed.
