Reminder that Overwatch gooning directly lead to major improvements in 3D animation technology and therefore is a net positive for society. Looking at the developmental materials for other games with muscular women you can actually see the massive amount of iteration they go through, different builds, proportions, etc... They almost always settle on the look She-Hulk has in MVC3 or that one check in Arcane S2, which is basically a fitness model. Bulky women like Senja from Wayfinder are rare and hulk-like non-monstruous women are extremely rare. So there's absolutely a "Muscular Chick" team same goes for "Cute Mascot Character" team.

Woolie bringing up the whole VAs voicing in these SFM projects and needing people who sound like the characters do is a little funny to me, because in practice (at least as far as my own knowledge goes, could be wrong though), most SFM and 2D NSFW projects that have voice acting usually aren't too picky when it comes to how characters sound. Voiced dialogue when it's there usually has some attempt to sound like characters do, but sometimes, the main thing is just having voices, regardless of accuracy. I don't think that's a bad thing though, since it means more VAs get work, and if anything, if the VAs sounded too similarly while getting freaky, I'd prob be more confused and weirded out than anything lmao

yeah, in my copious experience, artists dont care how close to the source material voice actors sound: Usually they just rip generic sound effects from across the internet, a small handful of people go the extra distance of searching for and hiring actors. If they *happen* to sound close to the source material, great fine whatever, its not even on the list of things to be concerned about. If the rates are good and they arent a pain to work with theyll call it good enough

From my experience, cutting corners and trying to match actual voice lines to things happening in the sfm is the easy way out, but dialogue is usually pretty sparse, in the sense that any actual voice work is mostly moaning. Alternatively, there are moaning voice banks, and once you get far enough in, you begin to notice a lot of people (actually mostly on the MMD side, so a lot of Japanese stuff) use the same few ones regardless of how it matches to the footage, and it's actually turned me off of a few otherwise good ones purely because it just seems lazy to me now

Voice banks are definitely useful when all you need is just moans (no different than sound effects at that point) but it feels less... special, compared to having more personalized voicework for a project, dialogue and all. It helps it to stand out in the sea of otherwise simpler porn imo. For what it's worth, I definitely prefer these video editors using voice banks from VAs, even if it doesn't always line up, and supporting them with their work. It sounds silly when I say it out loud, but there being a community of artists and VAs that help each other out is heartwarming, even if it's for gooning lmao

It's actually much more complicated than Woolie thinks, because different mediums and even platforms within those mediums will have different results, i.e. static 2D art (encompassing 2DCG and doujinshi if we're not counting original works) vs animated 2D (flash, and 2d anim software) vs animated 3D (Blender/SFM vs KK and MMD vs VAM vs Skyrim etc.) e.g. There's almost no OW or DoA on MMD and KK but there's also very little genshit on Blender/SFM etc. ソースは俺
