Me too! I hadn't watched it for probably 10 years when I got it for Christmas last year, and then when I saw this part, I felt pangs of terror coming back to me and I realized...this movie is why I hate clowns so much. It's weird how much stuff affects you even years later.

This was probably one scene that kept me from watching the film for many years. 1:02 I remember being freaked out by. Though in my mind, I always assumed after they lowered it into the cauldron, it was pulled up as a red-demon-bike with a demon's head in place of the lion's on the front.

Even though as a child he wasn't fond of the '70's style bike, my friend still was FREAKED from those evil and horribly ugly living objects! That and a video game his older brother was watching caused him to have coulrophobia, the fear of clowns. He also was freaked out by the clown statue at the beginning of the movie. he wasn't all that scared of "Large Marge" he says it wasmore like a "mindwrencher"!

Where can I find the music from the dream sequence, even the music on this part was scary?
@SirKendalMintcake13 жыл бұрын
This is really powerful stuff... The music is spot-on, the clown's make-up is scary and I think the underlying terror is that you must trust those clowns to fix Peewee's bike. They hardly portray a professional image!!! I think that this particular scene is a masterpiece, perhaps for the wrong reasons. Even the music is scary and with a repetitive beat that gets right into your head. Uuuggh!

There was something I loved about this scene. I saw this movie about age 7...I can see how it can be scary for kids younger...but I loved this scene, and the music. Don't forget Tim Burton handled some of the special effects in Howard The Duck. He was so good in directing this movie that WB entrusted him to direct Batman. The rest is history. Also, don't forget Danny Elfman's chilling music here. Fresh out of Oingo Boingo, this was his big break. And Phil Hartman co-wrote the script with Paul Rubens, well before SNL and "The Simpsons."

I can't believe people were more afraid of Large Marge than this. My mom tells me I was petrafied of this movie as a kid, but didn't remember which scene did it. As soon as I saw this, I was 3 years old again. Jesus Christ.. Oddly enough, the glittery clown wig brought it all back. lol. I think this also explains why I was afraid of hospitals for as long as I can remember.
