Ive been to the Tiger imports sight to look at parts however they are not taking orders(im guessing Covid) so im going to pull the harness and build one from scratch....other plans are to convert it to 18v, full respray and replace all lights with Leds.....your video was super informative, thanks so much

Found your video here after a Google search looking for a replacement battery. Doing spring cleaning and one of the items that is taking up space in the garage is a Peg Perego Gaucho Jeep Wrangler (yellow) that needs to go. Brought back memories of my daughter riding it many years ago. She is all grown with a career and has a real Wrangler now :-) Is there a way to revive the old batteries with a smart charger like CTek? If not, what is the best battery to use as replacement that is not expensive? It is all original and in great condition & has been sitting in the garage for about 20 years.

We have one like that we are trying to restore but we can’t work out how the wiring works to get different speed for 1st and 2nd gear. It just goes in what seems to be 2nd gear. Reverse is pretty fast too!
@CustomKidzCars3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the shifter switch wiring is not correct. Peg should have wiring diagram online. Basically low and reverse are in series and high is parallel so gets full volts to each motor.
@thewobbleboxers84313 жыл бұрын
@@CustomKidzCars thanks for the reply. We have racked our brains for 6 hours over it! All the wires are correctly connected as per the dots. We can’t find a wiring diagram for our one. Typically! We have resigned ourselves to 2nd and high speed reverse!

Hmmm. I would try to rotate one of the plug connectors 180° on the switch
@thewobbleboxers84313 жыл бұрын
@@CustomKidzCars we tried swapping the wires over to work the opposite switches and we thought we would get 2 reverse speeds and one forward. We got 2 forward 1 reverse R forward. There is a 25a fuse before the motors that blows sometimes too. Only one power feed to the motors which is parallel. For series I would have imagined the switches from the gear lever would then make the series connection as a desperate feed to the motors but it doesn’t. All very strange!

Awesome awesome video. I have a gaucho grande. Got it 20 years ago. Am researching their value since I want to sell mine. Didn't know the gaucho were so valuable for their quality. Pretty sure its stock. Has two 6 volt batteries. So it has the faulty wiring? I was going to sell it. But now am considering updating it and keeping it. What do you recommend? Replace everything you showed in this video? Maybe go for 24 volts? I also lost the charging cable so can't even test it out. Pretty sure the batteries are completely dead by now though.
@CustomKidzCars4 жыл бұрын
They are cool but the value is not over $300-$400 max. I would contact peg perego customer service and obtain an updated wiring harness. This will make it easier to upgrade battery ah as well as voltage compared to the old 6 volt packs.
