This week I finished binding my first book using your tutorial. I LOVE it. Can't stop touching - t's the first time I've used leather for the cover. After watching this video, I want to ditch work and start creating another one. Thank you for sharing and inspiring.

Your intro and background music sounds like the Monk tv show music. Very nice 😊

I loved the whole tutorial. Very concise, visually complete and well edited. Good job !! I just got the book I've been looking for (in hard cover :( .... ). I've never covered a book and started my usual research on KZbin, where I eventually found you. I still have a couple questions that you might help me w/. a) do you think it would be best to add ribbons under the headband or do you think it best to add them over the headband ? b) I can see different applications tend to require thicker or thinner glue. Have you found all PVA glues to be alike or would you recommend a particular brand ? Thank you for your generous consideration, God bless, Sincerely ................

I am glad I found your site. I am looking for veg tan leather, who did you get it from? Thank you.

Hi Marilyn! We order our veg-tan leather from Wickett & Craig, a tannery here in Pennsylvania.

Thanks a ton for this video! What's the approximate weight of the (non-vintage/found) leather that you use for Peg and Awl books?
@PegandAwlBuilt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Victoria! The rated weight is 4oz. for the vegetable-tanned leather.

your drawings are so great! them with the aesthetic of the paper and journal make it seem like an old-timey, rustic field journal. Did you take drawing lessons or just naturally develop by drawing what you saw?

Thank you! I've been drawing a lot of my life, and took classes when I was younger:)

Is there any alternative to pH Adhesive or PVA? it's not available everywhere. Is a product like UHU suitable for this job? Since it's flexible when it dries and it's not water based.
@PegandAwlBuilt3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what UHU is, but flexible is what you need for sure. Elmer's works!

I found your site simply amazing and educating. How do you clean and get rid of bad smell in leather?
