Outstanding. Love the way the scripts from the Movie are incorporated into the presentation. Excellent work done on the Diorama. Hopefully I will be able to visit in June of 2025. To much of waiting list with Tour group for 2024 that is the 80th Anniversary of the event.

My step great grandfather was at the battle when it was captured, later moving on to the Bulge and the Rhine Crossing, all of which were glider landings. I've been to Pegasus a few times, and I hope to go again soon since I was quite young the first times. I now re-enact the 2nd Oxf. & Bucks (the battalion which captured the bridge) in his honour, I'd also suggest going to IWM Duxford, as they have the original model of the bridge used for briefing in their airborne display if you haven't already.

Haha 😂 Matosas … it’s a collage of views. Never intended to be one singe diorama as it would have had to have been massive. It was the feel and sentiment that I was after in creating this model. Thanks for looking though 😉

Could be wrong, but that's not how rivers work. Nice bridge model though.
@tourdeairfix3 жыл бұрын
Haha! It’s a canal 😂 I had plans to use the right hand side, where the glider is, for another scene. But had a change of mind mid build and turned the bridge around 🤷♂️ It’s more collage of views than an accurate representation. After all, Caen isn’t that close either 😆

Sechs, setzen!!!"

@@tourdeairfix I've been fascinated with this mission for 40yrs, I'm surprised he didn't pull you up on the lack of damage on the front of Jim Wallwork's horsa. My personal favourite is his suggestion brotherbridge was killed by his own men. Love the build and mixed in from the movie (which also had inaccuracies lol), nice touch with the German falling into the canal.

@@tobytaylor2154 Don't diss the film too hard, my step great grandads first words walking out of the cinema after watching it was "Yep, that's what it was like". It was the only film he ever wanted to see, probably just because it had that mission in it.
@tobytaylor21542 жыл бұрын
@@Pte.Fletcher I'm not, I love the film I'm just a stickler for accuracy. For instance, Richard Todd who played major John Howard in the film dropped into Normandy and was on the bridge on the 6th of June so his acting and weapons handling was spot on. So where was your step grt grandad on d day?
