3 years late, but that is a common jazz lick, I believe pioneered by Dizzy Gillespie

@@Aidenlikesjazz come on though the fact he used the exact same lick from the most popular recording of the tune can't be a coincidence. I've heard countless Sakurai solos and can't recall him ever using that phrase.
