Wanted Dead or Alive was first and the film maker of Young Guns wanted it for the movie and Jon BonJovi said no, but he would do a new original for it and this is the song.

Yeah, slight edit - John Fuso states he was listening to Wanted whist writing Young Guns 2 and wanted it as the soundtrack, Emilio approached him but Jon said it wouldn’t fit so offered to write a new song which turned into the full album and gave him his first tiny cameo which started his try at acting. Black Pegasus add it to the playlist!

"Blaze of Glory" by Jon Bon Jovi was written for the 1990 movie Young Guns II. The song was inspired by a request from Emilio Estevez, who played Billy the Kid in the movie, for Bon Jovi's song "Wanted Dead or Alive". However, Bon Jovi didn't think the lyrics of "Wanted Dead or Alive" fit the movie's Western theme. Instead, he wrote "Blaze of Glory" with lyrics that were more relevant to the film.

This song came after. Emilio Estevez asked John to include "Wanted Dead Or Alive" in the soundtrack of "Young Guns 2". But John thought the lyrics were inappropriate for the movie. So he wrote "Blaze Of Glory". And yeah, this song is a masterpiece!

The music video for Jon Bon Jovi's song "Blaze of Glory" was filmed at The Rectory, a sandstone summit in Grand County, Utah. The Rectory is located near Moab, Utah. The crew camped on top of The Rectory for two nights to film the video. The video features aerial shots of Bon Jovi surrounded by castle-like formations. It also includes a projector screen showing the movie Young Guns II, which inspired the song. The video was shot in 1990.

"Dawg... DAWG! Did you see the size of that chicken?!?!" One of my favorite lines of any movie ever! This song is a FOREVER on my playlist; and it's responsible for two speeding tickets 😆 EDIT. The movies made this song what it became. Such incredible actors in their youth all together. To get two of them together 10 yesrs later would have cost more than the whole cast of "the gang" for Young Guns. Naturally; the casting cost went up dramatically for Young Guns II.. Both such incredible movies. Add this banger song as it's headline tune.. The "Package" was completed!

Bit of random trivia - in case you weren't aware - Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen were both in "Young Guns", as well as "Men at Work", and several others. They are also brothers. They have at least one other brother, who also used the Estevez name, who was also an actor, if not as well known. Their father Martin Sheen Americanized his name early in his career to avoid being type-cast.

This was a solo album by Jon Bon Jovi not the band, he was ask to write the songs for the movie soundtrack. Many artists contributed to Jon Bon Jovi's Blaze of Glory album, which was inspired by the 1990 film Young Guns II. Some of the artists who played on the album include: Jon Bon Jovi: Played vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and piano Jeff Beck: Played lead and slide guitar, including the solo on "Blaze of Glory" Elton John: Played acoustic piano and sang backing vocals on "Dyin' Ain't Much of a Livin'" Little Richard: Sang and played acoustic piano on "You Really Got Me Now" Benmont Tench: Played organ, acoustic piano, and more Phil Parlapiano: Played accordion Aldo Nova: Played guitar, keyboards, and more Danny Kortchmar: Played guitar, acoustic guitar, and more Randy Jackson: Played bass Kenny Aronoff: Played drums and percussion Alan Silvestri: Composed and conducted the album, and arranged strings. A real artist collaboration, produced 4 number 1 hits, lyrics are incredible for all these songs.

Jones Bon Jovi is friends with Emilio Estevez who was in one of the leading roles in the movie "YOUNG GUNS" and when they wanted to use Bon Jovi's song "Wanted dead or alive " they refused but when they were doing the sequel Emilio asked Jon again and he asked if he could just write a new song and Jon happened to bring his guitar with him so he said he would give it a try and he said that he would see what he could do after asking what the movie was about. Jon said that the song came together in just a few hours and he went to the director and Emilio Estevez and played what he had written and they were both blown away.

In our area, most of the drive-ends have been closed. One that was about ready to close years ago was kept open due to ton of area support. It has something like eight screens, it's a fairly sizeable location. The youngsters that have never had the chance to experience it, they're missing out, especially when you're in your teens, whether it's taking a date there, or being the one hiding in the trunk, good times. For the younger generation out there, go it you get a chance. Yeah, this song was a classic at the time for the movie Young Guns 2. Still holds up.

I miss drive-in movies! They were big in the 70’s. Put as many teenagers as we could get into one car…including some in the trunk. We were charged by the car, not the number of people in the car. We would all park on the back row at the drive in and socialize/party. Put some old blankets on the ground and a speaker… Those were the good ole days.

There's still "The 88th Ave Drive-in" in Commerce City! Until they offer her so much money for the land she can't afford not to sell it

Stumbled across your channel tonight on a couple of videos highlighting country singers. I am an elderly woman that very much liked the music of Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Charlie Pride, and BoCephus. You caught my attention that you are not afraid to mention the name of Jesus, that you seem to be a man that truly loves your family. How refreshing. I like that you could look past the imagery of what seemed to be White America in the song,Are the Good days Really Over, Merle Haggard, and see that the song is for all of us, glad you didn't try to interject racism into that imagery. Thank you. You have a fan in me, an elderly, white, very conservative, old woman, born n bred in the Heart of Dixie! And you are right , we don't look at what is called the Confederate flag as an emblem of slavery, rather it is a source of pride of being just plain folk, blue collar, etching out a living , loving our families, loving God and wanting to find the joy in life, no matter what comes our way. Thank you for seeing beyond the lies.

About Drive-in theater, I was 4 in 1954. Saw Peter Pan. Remember thinking I couldn't tell where the screen ended and the sky began when Peter takes the children to Neverland. What a memory.

This song was from Young Guns II from 1990. The cast of Young Guns II was Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Chrisian Slater, William Petersen, and Jon Bon Jovi {who played an inmate and was killed trying to escape}. Young Guns was made in 1988

I know there were still 7 drive in theaters operating in California. One of them is about 1/2 a mile from my work in Sacramento California. They mentioned them during COVID lock down. Also, a lot of the malls around my area had made their parking lots temporary drive-ins so that people could have a little fun and still shelter in their cars. A win, win for the local theaters and the people going stir-crazy lock up in their homes. Also, Bon Jovi's "Wanted D**d or Alive" is now the theme song for the TV show "D**dliest Catch"

This was a solo album for Jon - the Young Guns 2 soundtrack. One of my favourite albums as a teenager. Was listening to it alot last summer. Can feel another binge coming. "Miracle," "Blood Money," and "Bang A Drum" are more favourites of mine from this album. Try out his "Destination Anywhere" solo album as well.
