@@jimgray327well since lin wasn’t much help, as a 2000’s baby w great music taste i’ll try… to start the genre of this song takes influence from diva house and trance (this song is specifically ibiza trance) which were big genres in the 90’s… for diva house think of anthemic piano stabs and uplifting female vocals like whitney’s i’m every woman, together again by janet jackson and more recently, rain on me by lady gaga. and for trance i don’t think i have to explain much, trance has always had a very nostalgic and uplifting feel to it! dance and just pop nowadays is very trap influenced and it’s no surprise given that hip hop is the biggest genre out rn so in current time it doesn’t sound great to most but i think for my generation at least, we’ll find the biggest trap songs nostalgic and “better” eventually as it will remind us of our youth.
