What a beautiful Peggy Martin! Instead of digging up the magnolia since it’s so sentimental maybe build a higher trellis, very tall for the roses to grow on.

Nooooo no Cortez no cambies no sacrifiques! Recuerda que eventualmente la magnolia crecerá entonces tendrás un panorama hermoso!! Arriba la magnolia y por debajo el rosal!! Calma espera please!!
@annavoeggia8162 жыл бұрын

wonderful an austoundingly tough rose from all accounts. btw at the size of your magnolia you can have a hydraulic tree spade service come in and absolutely lift and transplanting the magnolia, preferably approaching or during its dormant period. ( tree industry pro, 41 yrs) it will require deep watering for quite some time plus fert. as well proper support but it can be done with success. Thank you for sharing pertinent info on the rose, i gifted one to my niece this Christmas. Super excited!

Yes, definitely a hardy rose! It grows remarkably fast! That was a great gift you got your niece! Before you know it she'll have a beautiful rose. We're still not sure what we're going to do with the Magnolia tree. Thank you for letting me know about tree spade service! That's a great option!🙂

wonderful rose! don't choose, just leave them both be. Rose can climb on that metal structure all around and magnolia will grow taller and will not be on the way that much...
@annavoeggia8163 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It's so pretty! 😊 I'm worried that when the Magnolia gets big it'll be too shady for the rose. Maybe I can keep pruning the Magnolia and keep it small.

My Peggy is 9 months old and has never budded up.😭 How much longer until she blooms??
@annavoeggia8165 ай бұрын
From my experience, they can bloom within the first year when planted in the ground. My mom had some in pots and they bloomed after a year. My tip is a lots of sun and fertilize once it starts getting warm. I have another one in the shade and it doesn't bloom very well.
@Sunshine-tf4ul5 ай бұрын
Thank you! Thank you! I guess it's just a waiting game for me because I have her in the ground, well fed and it's pretty warm here. 😁👍🤞

Thanks for this video, this rose looks beautiful.....for how long does this rose bloom? Is it repeat bloomer? Fragrant?
@annavoeggia8162 жыл бұрын
Thank you and thank you for watching! 😊 .....In my hot weather the rose plant is covered in blooms for about a month and a half. Where I live It usually has 2 blooming times spring and autumn. I haven't detected fragrance from the blooms.

Did you train it at all or prune?? I just bought 10 Peggy Martin.. 1 gone already to a friend and more will giving to family. Where I live is zone 9b, south of Houston area I hope they will be fine here. From the view of your video.. I saw it woody cane so big, are they heavy? I’m planing train it climbing up the pergola 12x10x10.what do you think?
@annavoeggia8163 жыл бұрын
Congrats on your peggy martin rose!! Yes I sort of train it. I weave the rose canes through the chain link fence. They get woody with age. I do trim it every year because it grows alot. I don't think you have to worry, this rose is very hardy. I think it'll be fine on a pergola.

If you must take down the tree try taking a cutting to see if you can root it. I would try in water and three drops of klm rooting hormone. I've never tried to root a tree cutting but worth a shot.
@annavoeggia8163 жыл бұрын
I've thought about taking a cutting, but I felt it wouldn't work. But now I think I'll give it a try! Hopefully it'll work! 🤞 Thanks 😊.

Do you trim the spent flowers?
@annavoeggia816 Жыл бұрын
I don't but I have trimmed long branches which had bloom clusters.
