She's correct. Writing can be a curse. While still a child myself, I went through a few years that I wrote children's stories. One day I was enjoying the outdoors, the chores done, no big thoughts and a friend from down the street walked up to me and proceeded to tell me about a weird dream she had had about aliens landing IN my garage. The juices started attacking and I had to go inside to write. I was sarcastically thanking my friend the whole time.
