You can also store eggs at room temperature if you clean and coat them with mineral oil. You have to turn them once a month to keep the yolks from settling, but they can last for months. It's easy and quick to prepare.

I wish I had a partner in crime. I’m 70 and live alone and my daughter is in total denial on the need for prepping so I have been doing it on my own with the idea that I’m also prepping for her family. It would just be nice to have someone by my side understanding what I’m doing, why am doing it and helping unload and store.

I'm 30 and have been a prepper for 10 years. I've always done it on my own. When the pandemic hit I didn't need to go shopping. I was able to feed my extended family ect. Now I have a partner and he helps and sees the importance of being prepared. I would always tell people I'm not prepping for the end of the world... I'm ready for a job loss, a death ect. Anything can happen and it's nice to have extra.

I bought a 50 pound bag of potatoes in June. I put them in a cardboard box in my basement to store. I grabbed some for dinner last night. As long as they have air flow and you check once a month or so to make sure you dont have any potatoes going bad they will last much longer than a month. I love watching your journey. Tartar sauce = mayo and pickle relish. So you can eliminate tartar sauce! 🥳. If you are new to gardening and want to save your backs, look into No Dig. Get you a ton of cardboard, (free behind shopping malls!!!) wet it. Layer with all those grass clippings (unfertilized:or treated) and shredded leaves. You can even get some from you neighbors. Compost all your veggie scraps and layer that on top. If you have compost now, layer it in with the leaves and grass clippings. This is an awesome hunker down project. Once this is done water it. The let nature do the rest!!! I’m in my 60’s and created a 50 x 50 garden this way. Keep layering and before you know it you will have awesome soil. Tree crews will drop off the wood chips for free, let them age at least 6-9 mos. 9-12 is better. You can add cow and horse manure to the layers too if you have a source but be careful about the horse manure because sometimes the grass they eat is treated with herbicides which will kill seedlings and plants! Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing your journey. Congratulations!!!!!

You two are so cute and supportive of one another 😊 Just curious what you will do for fruits and veggies during your lock-in? Will you just eat your canned items? If you ever need teriyaki sauce, you can easily make it with some staples. It’s basically soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, a little bit of ginger (I try to keep jarred minced ginger on hand because I can’t use fresh ginger fast enough), garlic and a bit of corn starch/water. Simmer on the stove until it thickens.

So what I do is go ahead and make my mashed potatoes, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and scoop out mashed potatoes. Put pans in the refrigerator for about an hour, then put then in freezer bags. Then when I need mashed potatoes I can take out as many as I need for that meal. Makes it so convenient and they taste fresh made. Just a tip if you need to use up potatoes but still have them in the freezer ready to go.

If you're like me & you use a lot of onions, bellpeppers in your cooking & other veggies, try to buy them in the freezer dept at Kroger for $1.00 per bag or even Walmart if you can find them there. It's a 10 oz bag & with it just being my husband & I, one bag can be used in two meals instead of one sometimes so, it saves a lot of money plus, I can always keep 10 of each or more in my freezer at all times. I like to watch your videos

Cook those philly cheesesteak egg rolls in the air fryer. Also, you can put pie filling in them and air-fry. Crazy good and portion controlled for The Don.

Hello family!! Happy Sunday!! I went out this cold rainy chilly morning and I got the last of my food preps!!! Whew!!! So glad to be at a stopping point. I actually got enough supplies for 4 months!! Praying for you all. My husband is a school teacher and thanks to contact tracing we both had to be tested for Covid Friday. Now we are quarantined until the results come in. Praying they are Negative.

will you please do a 'final' prepper pantry tour for us when Don gets the last shelf up and you reorganize your pantry? I would love to see it and get inspiration from it! 😘

Hey while at Sam’s today I saw really sturdy aluminum trays like you had but they were a pkg of 36 for just $7.68. Much better quality and tons cheaper than Dollar Tree. 😃💜🌸

Went to Costco this morning and they were out of toilet paper, paper towels and propane tanks and I was there half and hour after opening. Found a propane tank at Tractor Supply but no Propane. So looking for propane for my 2 empty tanks, getting my last pickup tonight at Kroger and then I am done besides finding propane. My house is full of stuff also but i have it and will not have to go out. Stay Safe my Friends!

If you coat the eggs with mineral oil, they will last 3-6 months at a cool room temp or up to a year in the fridge. It creates an oxygen barrier which preserves the fresh eggs.

Make your own tater sauce. Mayonnaise + your favorite relish = tarter sauce. I add a tiny bit of paprika and/or lemon from time to time.

I literally binged watched all of yawls prepping videos from the beginning to this video and I started last night!! My husband is active Navy and we/I started our prepping in April 2020. My husband was deployed at the time and we have 5 kids and a pup. My kids all thought mom is loosing it! Every day a package was coming in for our preps! We have our food/water and each of us have our bug out backpacks if we need to leave. Even our pup has one for her back! 😂 Also have a trunk filled as well. Hubby is a GM so we are well stocked in firearms/ammo department. Home security as well. When my hubby came home he laughed bc of all the stuff I had bought but at the same time when a buddy came over they were talking about prepping and he was excited to help his friend out and show some of the stuff for his buyout bag. 😂 I love to see folks do what is possible for them and their family. Please keep these videos coming bc there is definitely more than food that needs to be prepared! Thank you for sharing!

Wow! Thanks for the views, but more importantly, thanks for the story of experience. There is so much more to prepping than food. Heat, power, security, and fallback plans are all important.

dont forget ghee! it is shelf stable and you can have it for a long time. If the freezer goes out, or the power goes out, please make sure you have a canner, a canning kit (has a lifter, magnetic lid puller thing, a food pusher, and a funnerl), a Ball Blue Book that tells you what to do, and about 96 wide mouth jars (they come in boxes of 12 with rings and lids). Even if you don't know how to use them, you will figure it out in a crisis with the Ball Book. If you don't have them, you will loose everything in three days. This is crucial. The Lord will provide, just go pick it up.

Hi Pegi and Don! Thanks for the haul!!! I make crab rangoons in wonton wrappers and just to let you know, they freeze beautifully! I make a big batch, heat some up in the air fryer and freeze the rest, and they go straight from the freezer to the air fryer and make a delicious appetizer on our stir fry dinner nights! Stay healthy and safe from Colorado!
