I've lived in Cannes for 6 years and from there I tried to visit every little place in the South of France but I missed mysterious Pillon. As I am planning on moving back there soon, I'll make sure I'll visit it. Got the Potty Poche guide too!

Hi Alejandro! Peillon would be a great place for a murder/mystery, for sure! So glad you enjoyed the video. There are, basically, two routes to Peillon. Recommend you do not take the single lane, insanely elevated, twisty one from St. Agnes ... unless of course you like heart-stopping thrills and a great view!

This was great to watch, thank you!! I noticed that you did not encounter ANY other people, is it always like that? Also, this is a stupid question and I apologize for it, but where do people get their groceries? (I mean the things they can’t cultivate). Thank you

I am so glad you enjoyed it! I have been to Peillon twice and only saw one other person. As for shopping, there are no shops in Peillon. The main village in the area seems to be Sainte-Thecle, which is less than 10 minutes away.

@@riumudamc4686 I think it was late spring, and a second time in the summer. Thanks for watching; I hope you enjoyed it!

@@BluetteMatthey thank you for the reply! Are there other similar villages in the region without tourism? Also, are there any good freshwater swimming options in the area?

@@riumudamc4686 Peillon is pretty unique as far as not being invaded by tourists. I have never seen Sainte-Agnes full of tourists, but it has a different vibe. As for swimming wild, the Gorge du Verdon and Pont du Loup, both in the Var (further west in Provence) are quite nice. Don't know of any areas in Alpes-Maritimes ...

PEILLON Is my Family Ancestors Village, WE still have our name although our great, great Grandparents left for Australian during the first world war. We went to many Islands Inc, NZ and Australia plus many others. I still Have my family name of Peillon as we had many men. In Australia my Family Took Indigenous Partners and they also have the Australians Indigenous names and the last name of Peillon. I feel such a connection to knowing my Frankish History From the Franks all the way to Aborigine Australia. My feet are alive within the Aborigine north and Mid Australia, But I've a longing to be In Peillon, My ancestors village. and yes many murder mysteries lay there, inc, Peillon women were murderers too. check out the Priests that Guard the Tombs Of Peillon. Thank you for pronouncing Peillon properly, My family get wild when they hear It pronounced wrong. We have even been by the Ignorand Pillons, peeon, Pielon . Bonjour, salute. 'and yes Vincent and the rest are distant relatives, very distant. From Wurundjeri country Australia.

Hi S Greg! Thank you so much for your comments and sharing your amazing family history. Peillon is one of my very favorite perched villages. I find it intriguing and about as authentic as any you will find. Have you been to visit Peillon? I definitely will investigate the Priests who guard the Tombs of Peillon! Where are these tombs located? Do you have any tidbits you can share? Always so good to hear from people who enjoy my videos. Thanks, again, Bluette
