My boy is a rescue and a pet and although he has a very full coat, he does not gave the profuse coat of a show Peke, which is fine. I groom him myself and keep his coat long and just tidy up here and there. I hate when people shave their Pekes. Thanks for such a great video. 🤗

I have recency lost both my pekes cancer and recently my older one died from liver disease. I am looking for a replacement. I am on disabiĺity pension and can't afford much and live in southern Ontario Canada . I am not looking for a show dog and doesn't need to be registered A rescue would be great. Please help me to give one a forever home. Even if one has an eye missing they still need love. Thankyou Ellen

Ellen Andriash i lost my Peke to cancer as well. Did multiple surgeries but it kept coming back

I personally prefer the back feet trimmed, First of all they have skirts to cover the back feet. The feet are cleaner. No judge has ever witheld a win or even commented on my dogs trimmed back feet. I dont like them to look like fuzzy duck feet. ;)

Thank you. We get a groomer to come to our home. What a good idea to let the dog lay on it's back for the underside grooming I hold our dog Bob up on his hind legs so she can reach those areas. As he gets older I know he doesn't like being held that way much any more. Thanks for sharing. Bob is just a pet Peke but has a very thick coat. What do you feed your Pekes? Bob is eleven now. We got him at two and one half from the SPCA.

I noticed that if brought a Pekingnese to a tropical climate, the second generation will not have the soft coats anymore, all become coarse coat. Is it a true observation?

how on earth do you get a dog to be that good for grooming? My one peke jumps all over, wiggles and sometimes snaps. My younger one will wiggle alot too but he has more of a pet peke spaniel like shorter coat.

How often do you wash the dog ?

When I have a dog in show coat I bathe them at least 1 time a month, sometimes more if needed or sometimes just underside , feet and rear area. Depends on how dirty they tend to get between baths.

As a pekingese owner, this royally pisses me off. Look at the history of the breed, they AREN'T supposed to look like this.

us humans we are not their owners! got that! we're their interspecies companion. i think all you college degree and rocket scientists could be emotionally better people than that, use your heads. a pet is not an it! unless you have an emergency and timings beyond crucial GOT THAT!
