Nasus is a bizarre champ, because realistically he has no in kit scalings that push specific itemisation. This statement is a bit disengenous, as his lifesteal technically scales with AD and he has 3 abilities that scale with AP, and of course he loves cooldown reduction and MS, but the traditional Nasus build is a combination of Bruiser and Tank items that don't really make his abilities much better than they already are. Levels and stacking are the majority of your scaling. Items are mostly useful for their unique passives they bring you more than the stats they give you. It's for this reason that I feel AP Nasus feels kinda good. His few scalings aren't great, but you still get Q stacks, and you can actually feel some of your abilities improving over the course of the game with each item built. And whilst you might not be able to stack Q as consistently with the stronger wave clear and lack of AD in the AP build, there's no reason why you can't also consider some of the typical tank items Nasus would build in his usual builds along the way, especially ones with cooldown reduction.

Not sure what would give you the impression that AP Nasus would be bad. Especially considering that his Q still stacks permanent damage regardless of your build (it's the mechanic that even makes going tank viable since you don't lose damage). You should focus on getting your Q stacks on cannons, at least. Otherwise, most of the power of your ultimate is useless since your Q deals pretty low damage. Banshee's could also be a good item (MR, AP, spell shield), storm surge for the aoe bolt (your E was definitely doing enough damage the first game).

Never forget that his ult deals max hp dmg. This dude's every tank's nightmare. Liandry, rilays and malignance (Rilays' there to annoy the rest of the team while you wither your target, they get all panicky when they can't sprint around no more). Then you build a Jak'sho and whatever you want for a final item. Honestly it's so funny cause his abilities have this wide variety of utilities for different scenarios 😂

I've noticed he's been running aery(or however that's spelled) instead of comet these last couple of videos, is there a recent patch I've missed?

Aery and Comet are frequently in contest with one another, with champs like Lethality Xayah, Azir and Orianna being a few examples of champs that can opt for Aery. The reasoning is that whilst Aery deals less damage, it can theoretically be triggered significantly more often as Aery's cool down is for the most part in how long it takes to close the gap between you and your enemy, where as Comet has a flat cool down that can only be decreased with more spell hits. Champs that harass frequently with autos or low cooldowns can get more damage off with Aery in the Laning phase.

Gotta go for those cannon minion Q's tho, they're +12 compared to regular minion +3's (you probably know that lol), and as much as it stops being important for the AP dog in the late game, having a good amount of stacks makes up a lot of your damage in those midgame fights, what with ult lowering the CD and all. It's nice for objectives too.

AP Nasus with ult on kind of feels like Karthus sometimes. You just slow the carry, turn on your ult and wade into the teamfight to sit on their face for a while. If you die it usually doesn't matter because you've done so much damage to everyone on the enemy team while they try to peel you, just by spamming E and standing around.

Malignance + Lyandry could be a nice combination, maybe building deathcap, cosmic drive or lich for third/fourth item. At least again many bruisers or tanks sounds good enough since they'll be at melee range, but against ranged could be useless

The build would be ludens lyandries to get people low and shadowflame to boost your damage in the boxing match after you hit E. You dont really need CDR THAAT bad because smart ult timing still makes you a juggernaut. But now your a juggernaut with undodgable poke so that you dont HAVE to all in and pray, you can be a nuisance from a safe distance and youl be able to easily tell when you win.
