You have to understand Pele was playing like Messi and CR7 in 1957. But hey are doing his tricks since 2005. That to tell you how far advanced Pele skills were. He invented modern football. Also when Pele played the ball was at least 30% heavier. It wasn't until the late 70's that technology was developed to make the ball lighter using thinner leather patches and still maintain ball pressure. Aka it was harder to do what we do today cause the ball was heavy and hard as a rock.

I watched him playing many times live on the pitch or tv. Nobody is better than Pelé.

All the skills that are common place today. Pele invented them. Nutmeg and roulette dribbling skills, check. Bend the ball free kick, check. Bicycle kick, check. Balero kick pass, Dribble the team and score, check. Pele reimagined how the game was played and every followed his lead. Also when Pele played the ball was at least 30% heavier. It wasn't until the late 70's that technology was developed to make the ball lighter using thinner leather patches and still maintain ball pressure. Aka it was harder to do what we do today cause the ball was heavy and hard as a rock.

Pelé didn't invented them, all those skills were invented already, but Pelé mastered them all
@m2c_tave6893 жыл бұрын
Viejotrueno before Pele you were not allowed to use these skills in a game. It was considered street futbol and not championship football. So Pele mastered these skills but also implemented them at the highest level. Which redefined the game for the next 50 years to come.

@@m2c_tave689 Argentinians in the 40s were playing like that, particularly the River Plate team called La Maquina. A young Alfredo Di Stefano started to play in that team and then he brought that style to the Real Madrid that dominated european football during the late 50s/early 60s. That was the event that redefined football. That and the tactical changes the argentinian applied, like playing as a false 9 and encouraging his teammates to change positions offensevely. When Puskas arrived to that team the circle was complete, because he was doing the same with his hungarian National Team, before politics happened in Hungary and the Magic Magyars splitted... Pelé couldn't change football because the things he did were already invented, and he was impossible to imitate, skills wise speaking

@@JulioLeonFandinho so who invented those skills.
@JulioLeonFandinho3 жыл бұрын
@@geovannyzuniga6037 The creators of some skills and moves are known, many others aren't... for instance, the 'elastica' is very 'recent'. It's said that was invented by the brazilian Rivelino, but Rivelino himself stated that it was a teammate of him when he was playing amateur in his younger years. But who invented the 'rabona'? I don't know. Pelé used it, but I've seen Real Madrid left winger Gento using it before Pelé. Where Gento learned rabona, who taught him? because I'm certain he didn't create it... Please, have in mind that the first tactics in football was dribbling. Before Pelé there's more than 50 years of people developing dribbling. But Pelé invented some things only him did, for instance, the "give and go" with his own markers... he sometimes threw the ball into a defender body, catched the rebound and got away with it, while the defender was astonished asking himself what the hell just happened. Nobody else repeated that move ever

OG Wednesday. Johan Cruyff. Dutch footballer. Played for Ajax, Barcelona. He was a big part in making the Netherlands a force in world football in the 70s and part of that team that many thought deserved the world cup win but ultimately lost to West Germany in 1974 WC. Only player I know that has a football move named after him. Was also a decent football manager of Barcelona FC in the 90s

He is more complete as an attacking footballer and the his skills are the most refined of any footballer. He is also the most effective footballer ever. Besides Messi, no one else should be on Pele and Maradona's level.

And I didn’t see messi winning 3 world cups like Pele?
