I LOVE when this is played. Great job drumline. I hope y'all know the history of this song being played at PHS where it began with Carson Sumpter. RIP Carson.

I'm on Pelham's drumline and unfortunately we aren't doing it anymore. Pelham wanted to keep the tradition up but Helena, not so much...

@@afreis0448 that surprises me because I’m at Helena right now and our director is Mr. Burnside and he used to be at Pelham before he transferred and he is all about keeping tradition

@@ThomasW280 yeah I think it was more of a logistical thing, it was really difficult to get both drum lines together to play it and we both have different variations of monkey beat so it sounded dirty even if it was technically clean. I don’t think it was ever really a true tradition which is probably why he didn’t want to keep it, and why our band director didn’t pursue it too much

@@afreis0448 that’s probably it. Are you still at Pelham?

Man I wish they kept this going it would be so cool. (edit) So cool to see that pelham still has those two tenors and three snare drums (And that I might possibly be playing one of them)

Probably the camera's white balance just adjusting to the ambient light.
