Pelican Bass Raider 10E: The Spawn is On!

Welcome Back! This video features fishing for spawning bass on a private 20 acre lake. We were able to catch a lot of fish on the beds sight fishing, but the big girls haven't seem to move onto the beds yet - It's going to happen any hour! Hopefully I can make it back out when it does happen. In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy the video and get out there and catch some fish! Man! You got me going! I live in the San Antonio area and I plan on taking my raider to Chouke Canyon tomorrow or Thursday. I hear the white bass spawn season started late this year so I may still have a chance !

You should add some scent to your plastics man. With scent thrust don’t just pick up and drop. Once they taste it they will hold on a lot longer.

What's up buddy? Got my Raider all modded out and shopping for my motor and battery. Gonna start with 1 motor on rear transom...Minn Kota Traxxis 55 with 42" shaft. What Ah battery would you recommend? I'm trying to go Lithium, and don't want to buy 100Ah comparable to typical Deep Cycle Marine battery...($900!!) I saw a guy tie 2, 30Ah batteries in parallel, but no one ever give you an idea for how long they'll last for a day's worth of fishing???

This particular lake is a private community lake. I’d try Lake Sheldon, Huntsville State Park (Lake Raven), Lake Woodlands, and Lake Conroe (Stow Away Marina)! All the best!

What kind of screws or bolts did you use to make your deck permanent? Also, did you screw straight into your boat?

can I run my suzuki 6hp at half throttle?

Brad, I’m really not sure b/c I’ve never ran anything higher than the 2.5hp. I will say I had transom flex even with the 2.5. If you try I would throttle up slow and monitor it as you go. However, the boat is rated for no more than a 3.5 (I think) so if your on a public lake that requires it to be registered and you’re motors HP is higher than allowed, you may get a ticket for it - just something to think about.

@@maxcastfishing4357 I saw a video with a guy who had a mercury 4 hp on his pelican. That engine weighs 56 pounds. Then I saw another video where a guy built a reinforcement for the transom with wood. So I'm not absolutely sure.

@@bradhuskers I’ve seen other guys run bigger motors as well on KZbin. If recall correctly, one of them used a ratchet strap to keep the transom flex down. The transom flex on my Raider with the 2.5 was bad, which led me to build the wood transom saver. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXfKh2ykn61sqdk
