Nicely done sir. You should look into the permanently mounted retractable ratchet straps. They bolt on. You pull them out and hook them to the boat. Then crank them down. When you are done you release them and they retract back in. Love mine.

genius, pure genius...best set up for 10E trailer I have seen, and I have seen a lot of them (on youtube)...especially the trailer lights and the combo rollers and runners...wondered why at first when you installed the combo, but when you launched the boat it was instantly clear...just a little pressure and the boat launches itself...thanks for sharing, now I am an inspired 10E owner...

The boat rolls so easy ive considered shortening the roller and extending the runners. Since the short tongue limits my wench cranking, I'm going to try a power drill to wench the boat on. Thanks for watching.

The struggle is always with reload. My trailer purpose was to go easy on the back. Do you leave the 75lb marine battery in your boat. Main advantage to me is to limit battery handling they are so heavy. NICE rig
@borfishing76906 жыл бұрын
Hi Tony, I leave the battery in the boat. The rollers aid in the reload quite well on low slanted ramps.

Hey my friend, I noticed your motor just barely missed dragging the ground, while it was down, backing to the water and leaving the launch area. Should the lower unit drag something, it could ruin both motor and transom. Take care, oh, by the way, nice trailer!

Okay, so I wondering how you attached your carpeted bunks to those shelf brackets (you call angle irons). It looks like you bolted them on with the nut being on the outside, but I don't see the head of the bolt on the inside, so I'm perplexed. It would seem that you'd have to bolt them and then put the carpet on the bunks, but that seems timely and a pain. I've seen others just use a screw from the outside, but yours looks different. Enlighten me please.
@borfishing76903 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t remember. I likely went to the trouble to bolt and cover, but I bet using big hex head screws from underneath would suffice.

You're the man, now think about a hand crank winch to pull it on up don't break your back.

It actually had a hand crank wench. If I still had the boat, I would have installed an electric wench. Thanks

I like this trailer but the rollers are really unnecessary and increase the height on pulling out of water. This gave me an idea. If I used a dump/tilt trailer, a come along or smaller winch would pull the boat on the trailer with zero effort. Awesome build.

I have a 10 ft trailer and was wanting to add similar rollers. Do you get much lateral slippage while the boat is on the trailer. I was going to go 8ft of rollers and 2ft of board but was concerned about how it would ride.
@borfishing76903 жыл бұрын
I had no slippage due to being tightly fastened front and back. My only concern with 8ft rollers is how loosely it will want to roll on an incline once it is unhooked in the front. But, it would not be a huge fix if they had to be shortened.

I like the way your trailer is set up but I was wondering?would there be any problems with one set of rollers extended to the back of my trailer?
@borfishing76906 жыл бұрын
Depends on how you intend to pull it back on the trailer. Having the carpet rails helps give some traction for stabilization. With it hooked and cranked on, should not be a problem.

Great project, I watched both. I am needing to do something like this. I got a little 4x8 I never use so gonna try and adapt it as well. I bought the exact same boat last week, had a 8.5' bass tender years ago and got the 10e this time. Do you still have and enjoy yours ?? I worked my way up to the crazy Ranger bass boats and now that I am getting back into fishing, I just want to pan fish and have such fond memories of the small and easy to use boat, that i decided that is what I wanted again ...

One last question, I’ve watched your video dozens of times but I can’t tell for sure. Looks like you used two carriage bolts per board at the very rear and what seems like another two per board a foot or so from the front edge. Is that correct? No others through the middle supports?
@borfishing76905 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t remember. I’m not seeing any others either. I don’t think it is necessary, but adding them another row as close to center as possible could not hurt.

I have a 4x6 utility trailer, do you think a bass raider could be made to fit on it?
@borfishing76905 жыл бұрын
I don’t see how you can get the tail lights extended to the rear of the boat. Maybe if you can fix away to mount them above the boat.
@jackwebb59175 жыл бұрын
Billof Rights Not sure I understand, so you’re saying that since it’s only 6’ the back of the boat would sit too far back from the trailer lights?
@borfishing76905 жыл бұрын
Mine hung out a foot in front and the back. It would hang out 3 feet in the back on yours. Adding the pipe lights made mine work. I can’t speak for the stability of having that much boat hanging out, but in theory, having pipe lights and the boat fastened down might work on a 6 ft trailer. I would test it on the trailer as is before modifying the trailer

I ended up selling the pelican to fund my jon boat restore and modification series. Thanks for watching
@charlesfaulkner86535 жыл бұрын
Billof Rights I suspected that as I saw your videos on the restoration. My friend, you have some serious skills! I’m 71 years old now and I have a Tracker 17’ bass boat. It’s great for two guys fishing but I’m getting my Pelican ready to fish solo. The way you load is exactly like I did with a 15’ jon boat although I’d go a little deeper into the water and it would just float right off. All I had to do was grab the rope and pull it to the bank and go park the truck and trailer. I’d love to have that boat back as I absolutely loved it and spent countless hours in it fishing lily pads. The Tracker is doable solo but not fun. Did you like the Raider for the time you had it? Was it stable?
