I do some very extreme stuff in my prowler where it takes salt water over the rails and even over the bow at times. I dont have a problem with water intrusion. The prowler is stapled under there too, but the two pieces are glued together too. I installed 4 hatches on the deck so i can reach in and wipe out any water. Plus i store all of my outboard washdown muffs and hose in the hull. It also allowed me to install my thru hull transducer and run the wires easier. Great work you did there!

Hi! You should take that black trim off and seal all the tacks! then put it back on!
@CraftsmanontheLake11 ай бұрын
I thought of doing that but I saw one guy who did and had a devil of a time getting it back on. Seems the thing shrank. He had to leave in on the driveway in the sun to even begin to get it back on. So... not thinking I needed that kind of pain I opted not to do it. It is a good idea though, Just don't have the guts to see if he was right!

Dan … You are really an inspiration!!! Later this spring, I see a boat of this type “coming on”!!! I can already see that I will be duplicating a lot of the things you are doing on your boat. Thanks for sharing!!! Please send Joyce my warmest regards!!! Until your next video and beyond, happy trails, best wishes, take care, be safe, and God bless!!! Did you ever think of using Flex Seal spray?
@CraftsmanontheLakeАй бұрын
No, new boat. I wanted it to be controled and not show after.

Hello sir I have a Raider too and did the floor like yours but without anything underneath the mats it was too squishy for my liking. I went to Lowe’s and got a sheet of that green styrofoam insulation looking stuff and cut that out and used it underneath the mats for a solid floor with no added weight. Just a thought and not telling anybody how to do it but just that it worked for me. Loved the wood ruler I was a pipe fitter for 15 plus years and we used to use them.

Thnx. I may discover the same thing. If I do, your idea is a nice easy to cut, lightweight solution.

Use high density spray foam to fill in between the ribs on the floor of the boat, shave level with the ribs using a knife.

That’s great! I hope you post a video or at least some pictures someplace on Facebook or something people who do this. Always love to see what’s going on. Thanks for the comment.

Great video! Do you have the dimensions of your foam padding cuts ? The cuts you made to get the pads to lay flat into the boat and the angle cuts that you did for the corners. I don't have a table saw. Going to see if a buddy of mine can do it for me without me having to transport the boat to his shop.
@CraftsmanontheLake2 ай бұрын
Sorry, no I don't. It was cut as is at the time. I didn't write them down or save the pattern. And the boat is in storage for winter here n Maine. I think you'd have to be with the boat when this is cut. Not much way around that. And I used a table saw but a good razor knife will do the job too.
@suchairman22 ай бұрын
@CraftsmanontheLake thanks. Yea I asked the guy about it. I shared your video he said a 2x4 or a 2ft leveler and a razor would also get the job done. You did an excellent job on the angle cuts. I'm in south LA So we're still getting upper low 50s to mid 70s here believe it or not.. not going to be much of a winter, crazy.

@@suchairman2 Maine. We're hitting 50's some days. It's hard to get much snow too. I love winter, snow, snowblowers etc. Kinda miss it. Best of luck with your build!

@CraftsmanontheLake I'm jealous of your weather. I'm PRAYING we get some consistent weather in the 30s (at least) haha. Thanks again!

I think you did a great job. Do you have video of the battery cutout?
@CraftsmanontheLake2 ай бұрын
I don't know what you mean. I did a cutout for the bilge pump in the rear. I made a hard surface for my battery in another video.

You can't talk about an embarrassing boat flip and not show it. I didn't know it when I started watching but that's what I was watching floor. Is there any b-roll? Great video. I was worried about the squeeze out on the silicone, but it looks like it worked out on the face side. I'm passionately anti-silicone. Where's the dragon head going?

Right off the bat, no no and no. There is definitely adhesive between the two pieces... That piece of sudo rub rail is just covering where the two pieces come together.
@CraftsmanontheLake7 ай бұрын
Yes, I'm aware of that. Now the rub rail is also sealed. I wouldn't have taken apart the two halves to seal them on a new boat, but the seal isn't that great in many people's boats. Hence one area of filling up if left outdoors that people experience. I looked at mine and there was actually a gap where the seal didn't meet at the ends near the rear.

I chose not to. In a later video I installed a bilge pump.

GREAT JOB. IF I WAS YOU. I'D GET A THIN PVC SHEET AND LAY YOUR WHOLE FLOOR ON IT AND CUT OUT. THEN GLUE THEM TOGETHER AND PLACE IT ON THE FLOOR PVC DOWN. IT'S VERY LOTE AND REMOVES EASILY
@CraftsmanontheLake10 ай бұрын
Good idea might be an option at some point. I’ll try this out first and see how it goes from there.
