Not only does GOGI help prisoners to make positive decisions, but as 90 percent of all prisoners return to their communities, we are pleased that GOGI helps prepare them to be better neighbors!

Took my almost 30 years to change but I finally did. It gets old, very old. So much better being a productive member of society, real work, real relationships. It is hard though, sometimes it takes others much longer to grow up. I realize people come from all different backgrounds and some have gone through unspeakable things. When I was in prison near Houston for a bit over a year you'd meet people from all places. Some came from nothing, no family, heartache, death, and some came from privileged circumstances. People you'd think would never be near a prison were there. It really doesn't matter where you come from, lots of things can and will bring you down. SELF responsibility freed me from that life. Good luck men, get out of there and stay out!!

thank you all for using your minds and having the willingness to move forward to more positive meaningful ways of living, you all have the whole world in front of you and it would be a shame for you to waste the opportunity called life that we've all been given spending it in a cell. I too have been incarcerated more times in my life than not. I'm barely learning how to make good decisions and it feels good to know i'm not the only one trying to actively changing his future. continue to strive for a better tomorrow and we will surely have a better today. push pull strive. forever forward Siempre Adelante.

@melt138 I feel you bro but dont you think people can change after their perspectives change? Jus sayin...we aren't the sum of all our mistakes, they all aren't equally guilty of the same infractions, and we dont know the circumstances from which they came. This seems like a positive thing and I'm with it. I'm not a prisoner, therefore I dont subscribe to the prison code, PC, sny..etc. I just see a bunch of men excited about the chance of living a different life, and it's a good thing to see. 🙏

It's good to see a man grow up after being young and getting into the wrong things in life. Look at them just being themselves and enjoying the moment. I changed my life at 50 yo and it's the best thing I've ever done in my life. I didn't " Roll It Up " or PC up, I just grew up. Good luck to these guys! And congratulations!

It trips me out as a rehabilitated con that when I was in that life long ago everyone talked crap saying how the system is designed for you to return and fail and now days people talk crap calling people pesetas and trash and pieces of s*^t etc. I left some good friends when I walked out 22 years ago and in that time they had absolutely no chance of ever coming home with a life sentence . Now in order to go home you have to program and part of that is an inter grated yard and I’m happy a couple of my homies aren’t kicking it off on those yards because I want them here and free and with their families. If you are too blinded by your own self hate to support your homies actually being blessed enough to come home after decades in prison to support their journey then you need to look in the mirror and ask yourself why you hate you so bad that you are throwing your life away.

When I was locked up they didn’t have programs like this I think it can help you out greatly but only to a certain extent. The reason why I say that is because In prison their is a lot of respect going on discipline and its a very organized life style you get accustomed to and when you hit the streets after years of being locked up you see how disrespectful people are out here to one another and when that disrespect hits you and your use to using violence to correct that issue it is so hard to just be polite in return and walk away because you know your screwed if you mess up again at least in California with the 3 strike law. I think everyone in society should take at least 30 min of mandatory classes paid by their companies and government for the schools because this generations now days are very disrespectful to one another but anyway your family becomes your strength to be the better person and walk away and only use violence if your family is in a life threatening situation if needed, for me another thing that has been helping me recently is God reading the Bible and listening to Christian music calms me down so much and has helped me grow as a person anyways god bless the people that funded this program and I hope there’s more to come because we do need help before you get out and after you get out.

nobody owes you respect, if your not capable of controlling your impulses and or your emotions then that is precisely the reason you would be locked up. you have a Childs brain, an adult can be offended and not have to stab someone lmfao. Going to prison is lame asf, everyone inside is of lower caliber thinking and its a super regressive environment. I wouldn't want to be surrounded by a whole bunch of uncontrollable oversized baby boy killers. its not our job as a society to respect you, your the criminal, you were unable to follow the law. you have to fix yourself. its that simple and the dudes who don't realize that they're the problem will always go back .

mack bach if you choose to disrespect somebody, you’ve already taken a step in the wrong direction, now if the person you disrespected can jump further in that direction than you, how are they are wrong? check yourself. disrespecting someone is an emotional impulse that you “are not capable of controlling”. you sheltered people need to check yourselves.

My boyfriend is in the Shu at the moment at Pelican Bay and I would like to see him one day make this progress. It would be awesome. Thank you for what you are doing for these men, helping them be better people.

@Hlinkova Garda it was for fighting. I think he's changed his ways in two yrs. People do change. When you have no support from anyone in life it makes you a very different person - hard - compared to when you do have someone who loves you and who does care.

why change. 100% til i die and even then yes ppl change and mature but the atate of mind remains and altho my violence might quell in favor of good. The good will be my power over my dormant evil side that will cease to eacape. i am a warrior of god, a human imperfect to what is holy. Judged by what is sacred. Forgive me abd protect all with a good heart as I fight to defeat evil with evil until the day i die.

Dude saying that the neighborhood doesnt have to worry if these guys move in? "Hi neighbor! I just paroled from Pelican Bay for a murder I committed 30 years ago. No need to worry, I attended the GOGI program." Get real dude. Programs dont mean a thing. What means something, is how bad you want to succeed and the effort you put into it. It took me three terms to get to that state of mind. P.S.....I wont hire a guy that has his head blasted; it makes customers uneasy. Just sayin'.
