It's light until you get a bunch of crap in it like I have done. My milkcrate and anchor and stuff - it all adds up. But yep, the base kayak is pretty light and easy to handle which make sit a joy for these small waters like your pond. I'm enjoying the heck out of mine. Put some fish in it!

No I don't see myself doing a lot of standing in this compared to my feelfree Lure.

Hard to find anything that short that you can stand in without it being four feet wide. I bought one for the size and stability, not necessarily to stand up. I like that I can access the front compartment, most smaller kayaks are too narrow and unstable for me to crawl up there to grab something. We have a camper and unless we take two vehicles, we can't take the boat. I bought this size because we can easily get them into the truck and have something fishable to get me on the water, my wife rides with the dog on hers lots of room. Neither of us do much standing though.
