I'm getting this for next summer - was it easy to add handles and change the seat? I really don't want anything bigger but every single review mentions no handles

I was in the same boat (no pun intended) not wanting anything bigger because most other sit on tops weigh so much more. The handles were easy to install, even for me who has never worked on kayaks before. You need a rivet tool ($20), some tri-fold rivets ($12 on Amazon) and a drill. After adding the handles it's easy to move around. Before, it was really awkward.

I love this review! Can tou please tell me how you installed those handles? Is there a way to access the inside to put a nut to hold the screew in?

There is no access to the inside. Instead you need to buy Tri-grip rivets and a rivet tool. The rivets go through the holes you drilled, then the rivets open up on the inside and clamp back tightly. It's super secure. If you search KZbin for how to attach handles to a sit on top kayak there are some tutorials.

I just got one of these little guys second hand for $50. Literally just today. And looking at it I thought that’s a really odd place for a hole. Thank you for confirming my suspicions. This was a well done, well shot, well edited and well scripted video 🙏🏻

Thanks very much. Yes, the hole is very unfortunate. The intention is to allow water that may splash into the kayak to drain out rather than have the user sit in a puddle. But it actually guarantees a wet bum at all times, ironically. Easily fixed though!

What are hlogree caps? I'm not familiar with that term and nothing is showing up for me on Amazon.

@@Roos-Reviews Thank you very much for your feedback ! These are orange silicone stoppers and the name of the manufacturer is Hlogree. They have two sizes: the small upper diameter 1.51 inches lower 0.82 and the large upper 1.62 inches lower 1.23. I'm confused what size does it take for the sonic x80!? To put you in context on your clip you show us the plugs that you put to plug the two holes in the front and on each plug the name hlogree is written, subsequently I went to the Amazon site, and I I found them to be silone plugs for kayaks.
