Thank you for this wonderful video. I recently purchased a Pelikan Graphos. The pen itself is in great condition, but it seems like the feed was left to dry with ink in the reservoir. What would be the best way to address this? I don't want to damage the feed by forcing it out. It is solidly fused with the pen body by the ink.
@sinashishehgarha30232 ай бұрын
@skiegazer1953 It's my honor that you found the video useful and really appreciate your compliment 😊. As for the issue you just mentioned, I had the same problem with one of my Pelikan Graphos sets and should say it needs patience to address it. First, submerge it into a mixture of warm water and dishwasher liquid and let it be maybe like one week, depending on how hard the ink has dried. If you have tools like ultrasonic cleaner, it can be helpful, then use a tool like a tiny screwdriver and insert it in the back hole on the metal part of the section and without applying too much pressure try to push the feed out. Remember, don't apply any pressure on the notch of the feed as you can easily damage it. As I said before, you need to be patient for this and don't try doing it once, do it step by step, not damaging any part as the newest one is at least 40 years old and finding spare parts is a real headache. Wish you luck and take care.

Thank you for making this video. i've had this for some years now and haven't used it.., after watching your video i/ve inked it up and wrote with it. Yes you are right even after writing with it for like 30 minutes using different papers - I've noticed it too. there is a difference in normal waiting and reverse writing using only one nib and the ink I've used for now is pilot blue black and will be using waterproof inks later on. one good thing about this graphos is that it can be used and does not normally bleedthrough :) now I can use SOME of my not so friendly fountain pen papers for this. the no 2 feed has a very good ink flow for me. thanks for the tips on how to do what I was not sure of doing in the past. You explained it so well. Thank you :)

I wish you would do a video that focuses on only the finest lines that pens that can produce them, like the 0.15 and smaller. A video where you tell us about the trials and tribulations of each kind of pen and the best option for these tiny lines. I only know of the technical pens and no other form that can produce the 0.10 or 0.13.
@sinashishehgarha302323 күн бұрын
@soupbonep I will put it top in my agenda, but to make it short, the best pen to produce accurate fine lines is actually a permanent technical pen.The line quality is always the sameand the tip never wears off. And if you're a newbie, I recommend more user-friendly ones like #Fabercastell or Rotring Rapidograph (remember not isograph). Good luck, buddy, and God speed 🥰
@soupbonep23 күн бұрын
This is a very cool pen and so versatile. I would love to have one to try out. What is the smallest line that you can get? Looks like you wrote a 0.1. Is that true? That would be amazing if so because one wouldn't have the problems that come with the technical pens of that size.
@sinashishehgarha302323 күн бұрын
@soupbonep Hi buddy 👋 actually it's the most interesting pen I ever had, and as you said, the most versatile. I really recommend it for artists, but if one is only interested in drawing fine lines, it can't keep up with the 0.1 technical pen. But in terms of versatility and practicality, it almost takes over any other pen in this category. I will make more videos about this pen and different nibs of it. But just to make it short and answer your question, the quality and thickness of the line really depends on the angle you hold the pen and in some nibs the pressure you apply, and can vary in each nib type.
@CSGraves4 ай бұрын
This is my first time seeing a Graphos... that big set of nibs is fantastic! Will the Rotring Graphos accept the older Pelikan nibs? I ask as I imagine people hunting on eBay et cetera might resort to mixing and matching for lack of being able to score a compete set.
@sinashishehgarha30234 ай бұрын
Hi buddy 👋 all the parts except for the caps are interchangeable, like the nibs and the feeds. Even recently, a company from Netherlands named Stilovite has started reproduction of them with the same standards. So don't worry 😌 Good luck, friend.

Interesting and useful video! I have a small pocket size, 9 pieces A-nib set called Markant 100. Graphos copy from DDR. Its pen is shorter and thicker than Graphos one, nibs are basically the same but can't be used with Graphos, but Markant can use Graphos nibs.I noticed, when you presented those Leroy sets, that your wooden box set misses its lettering pen. Anyway, great videos!
@sinashishehgarha3023Ай бұрын
@viggenajs3408 Many thanks for your attention 😊 I believe you meant GDR by DDR. If I'm right and it's made in East Germany, it should be robust and long-lasting like many other of their products of that era. And as for the wooden bow, it originally doesn't have lettering pens like technical pens. Instead, it uses some tiny proprietary pens like I showed in the video. I mean, it doesn't have any extra compartment for extra items. Many thanks for your attention and good luck 👍
@viggenajs3408Ай бұрын
Sorry for my late reply. That Leroy set, it has a wooden nib holder, similar used on dip pens. You can attach a nib to this holder and then use it as a lettering pen. It is stored in that long slot where you had an extra template. DDR = GDR in English.
@sinashishehgarha3023Ай бұрын
Ah yes, now I see. Yes, it has a proprietary handle that receives those tiny pens to be used as lettering pen with templates or... . And as for the DDR, thank you, I didn't know that😊 I wish you health and happiness 🥰@viggenajs3408

I had one of those back in the 1990s. I didn't like it very much because when it wasn't clogged it was leaking. Mine had an aluminium body instead of resin. Maybe mine was defective, I don't know
@sinashishehgarha30234 ай бұрын
I have never experienced such a problem, and by the way, Pelikan Graphos is only made of resin and Rotring of pelastik. Maybe it was from another brand 🤔. Anyhow, it's a really frustrating experience when a pen leaks or clogs frequently, let alone having both problems together. I have had similar experiences with other pens and know what it's like 😔. Thank you, buddy, and good luck 👍

Does the featured portable ink bottle have a particular name? I'm not having any luck with generic search terms.
@sinashishehgarha30232 ай бұрын
@Spacejack-xx2yp These things have been discontinued long ago, and "Graphos ink bottle" can only be found in their sets of pen & nibs or in the lettering sets of k & E which use the same type of ink bottle made by Gunter Wagner. At least, that's my experience. Some other applications of these ink bottles have been addressed in the "dip pen video" or in the "LEROY LETTERING SET" video you might consider watching. Thanks buddy 👍

@@sinashishehgarha3023 What is the rigidity of the bottle? Is it something that could be replicated using 3-D printing, do you think?
@sinashishehgarha30232 ай бұрын
@Spacejack-xx2yp I don't think It's complicated at all, although it has some features that might be a bit hard to copy like the door or the plug, but nothing special. But first you need to find one to copy it. If you can find it then why bothering copying it, and if you can't then how are you going to do that🤔 anyhow, that's my favorite EDC ink bottle due to the reasons I have exclusively elaborated in Graphos and Dippen videos. @sinashishehgarha30235 ай бұрын
Hi 👋 buddy, you meen the feed? Right? Sometimes, when ink dries inside, the feed won't come off. If so, try submerging it into water with some drops of dishwashing liquid. But if it has tightened because of being wrongly inserted in place, that's another issue. I comprehensively demonstrated how to assemble and disassemble the pen. Many thanks for your attention and support 🙏

Sadly, my set did not come with such a bottle...or even room for one!
@sinashishehgarha30234 ай бұрын
It's really a pity. That bottle is really practical and useful because if you accidentally tip it over, it doesn't burp on your desktop, a really cool feature. I almost use it and fill it every day or every other day, mostly to put ink on my dip pens instead of dipping them into the ink. That's actually the subject of my last video. Anyhow, I think you can find it separately online if you search. I wish you luck, health, and happiness 😊 🙏
