Hmmm...I wonder if the Lynch & Shanahan (49ers) are looking at Darnold & thinking that they could get as much production from him for 35 million per year as Brock Purdy would provide for $60 milliion per year. 2. Another big question is Daniel Jones. If Jones sticks around on a 1-yr deal for $10 million, then the Vikes would have a good backup in case JJ McCarthy hits some rough patches in his first year as a starter. In that case, there would be fewer reasons to consider re-signing Darnold.

All options are always on the table, lol. Sammy folded in the big pressure games, total collapse. Twice. Work the franchise tag so that he can be matched up with the right team, the Vikings get some much needed picks, and next year McCarthy gets the keys, everyone's happy.

@@Evolution10X That's why Kwesi needs to work with an interested team, AND Darnold, to determine who the trade will be with, before doing it. That lucky team will bypass any bidding war to get Sammy at a reasonable price and the Vikings can make it more reasonable by kicking in an extra 10M to lower the cap hit to the new team.

I still think having a bridge quarterback for a year where JJ can get practice reps while healthy would only benefit him! That being said, please note Darnold! I’ll take Danny Dimes for the first eight games and then let McCarthy finish the year.

I just get sooooo tired of hearing how Darnold played the last 2 games. If we let everybody "WALK" that sucked the last 2 games of the season, we wouldn't field a team. Tom Brady wouldn't have won that game against the RAMS from his back. Can we please talk about the Vikings without bashing "ONE" player. Darnold wasn't the sole reason for the 14 wins, and he wasn't the sole reason for the 4 loses, "2 to the same teams". You joke about people not being able to sat anything about "Justin" without having to say something about "Chase". I'd love for "YOU" to say something about the Vikings QB position without throwing "Darnolds" name into the mix. its pretty clear he's moving on, I thank him for a Great season and wish him all the best. Lets focus on the Vikings that are still going to be here and let the past live in the past. The last 2 games wouldn't have mattered if Darnald "and the rest of the team" hadn't played at a very high level. Go Vikings,,,,, "SKOL"

First of all Darnold wasn’t invincible thru week 16 he was shit in weeks 7,8,&10 and some would argue week 12 against the bears and he blew a lead against GB twice there was some red flags he started getting banged up but we were winning games and I think KOC got a little over confident almost alike he didn’t have anything to lose either way he could have made some adjustments but he kept running the ball when there was no running game and the protection went to shit they could have got fun a split back piece together small yardage with your TE ands screen plays even some screens with Powell and Addison would have had more success than throwing into triple coverage to JJ 3 downs in a row and partially it’s the DEF responsibility too getting gashed in the fourth quarter by mobile QBs and living and dying by the blitz but at the end of the day Darnold got the best QB coach in KOC a stacked WR room some RB help in FA that relieved some of the pressure and a DEF that put you in a good position consistently but Sam could not overcome HIMSELF and that’s most likely gonna be the case no matter where he goes hopefully he gets some consistency in coaches players and scheme wherever he ends up so he at least has a fighting chance good luck 14
