Just noticed you bought the 680 too I purchased it when it first came out and years later, still love it and use it all the time. I'm smoking some baby backs as I write this.. how do you like yours any complaints? I've been very lucky with mine so far. It's amazing quality!

That was some great info Larry. Nice seeing the guts of your Rec-Tec grill in action. I may have to break down and get a pellet cooking one of these days. A guy can never have too many toys!!! Cheers brother!

Larry, the first thing to do is to put on rubber gloves! I might have overlooked that if it were not for this video! Great tips here my friend! Thanks so much!

John I'm a country boy, I don't mind getting dirty. That's what soap and water is for. If I were working with fiberglass insulation, then I'd wear gloves.

Larry, it looked like you had gloves on in the opening scene! I like the idea!

Hey a new tip for the Rec- Tec users after a few cooks in the video that the WolfePit shows during his clean up. Use a non-scented cat litter or at Tractor Supply buy the floor absorb. Put this into the inside of to bottom of the pit that the grease might pass by the pan even with the foil. When it is time to clean which I do every other cook I use the Shop Vac and what might drip down to the bottom gets cleaned up. By the way it is a non-toxic product so do not worry about killing yourself during the cooking process. I'm still here.

so how has your Rec tec held up looking at getting one. Have a 17 year old Ducane that has served me well. I am looking at getting the 680.

Nice video Larry. Getting ready to fire my Rec Tec up for some burgers and dogs tonight! Rec Tec makes cooking burgers such a breeze. I actually cook mine a little slower and get some smoke on them. all the kids and grandkids love em!

That was a great cleaning vid..can you use oven or grill cleaner on the main pan without impregnating the main pan with the chemical..
@TheWolfePit9 жыл бұрын
+Cris Workizer Thanks Cris! You probably could use grill cleaner and it wouldn't necessarily hurt anything. I wouldn't personally do it as I like the insides of my grills to have some grease and soot on them. To me it helps protect the metal and makes it easier to clean in the long run if that makes any sense.

Have you tried using the Grate Grills for your Rec Tec? I've seen a lot of people suggesting them for pellet smokers/grills. Rec Tec has 3 grates with a utensil for $79.99 plus a $14.99 shipping fee. Are they worth the $100? I would like your professional opinion on this. Thank you..

+Rajen Cajun Yes I have and they work great! I have a few videos using them on here if that helps, but not many. You're not going to get the 'true' flame/charbroil flare up you will from a traditional gas or charcoal grill, (to be honest) but they do add flavor and nice grill marks for a nice presentation.

Any issues with fires with this pellet grill?
@TheWolfePit7 жыл бұрын
Not at all. Keep the drip pan clean of grease and the chamber free of ash and there's no issues.
@cowboyup5457 жыл бұрын
Why Would anyone let their dip pan get so funky? Heavy duty tin foil would prevent all of that. But a great Video never the less. Its always good to clean your grill even using tin foil I had some grease get underneath the foil,.and cleaning out the ashes is a must to keep a good running fire box.

He did mention that it was starting to get a seasoned coating on it making cleanup easier each time. Might be a good thing having a petina on the metal
