How about the Birdtrick pellets? Have you tried them before?
@PoodlesandParrots2 ай бұрын
@@glorybanks I haven’t because they only ship them in the US but several birdies have said that they are TOPs pellets just rebranded so either is fine since they are the same

@@PoodlesandParrots my bird is very picky and she doesn't want it so I put crushed up tropican pellets on the Harrisons and she still doesn't want it do you have any recommendations

@@sugaranimates2207 give your bird some time to get to know and taste the new food, there are many ways to get pellets in your bird diet like adding crushed pellets on top of their favourite fruit or veggies, including it in foraging fun, sneaking it in when baking birdie bread, etc :)

Are Harrison pellets cold pressed? I know TOPS is.
@PoodlesandParrots2 жыл бұрын
TOPs is cold pressed - Harrison’s website doesn’t say but you could reach out to them to ask. But Harrison’s is a high quality organic pellet that’s a good choice and our birds seem to prefer these over TOPs although they’ve had both. The pellets are with no GMOs/pesticides/chemical preservatives/artificial flavours or colours. “Harrison's Bird Foods is a family of certified organic, nonGMO-verified, formulated diets that were created by avian veterinarians and top avian nutritionists with the health of your bird in mind.”

@@PoodlesandParrots Not true. Even if they said they never use pesticides, they still do. They have to in order to preserve and save their foods from bugs to make profit. They just don't use the most harmful pesticides and only the lesser evils. Natural GMOs had always existed ever since we learned to cross breed with other plants. Lab GMOs only choose the best genetics for the foods. Nothing terrifying about it unless they don't choose the best genetics then yeah. Who could trust buisnesses? They can get sued.

I feed them chicken pellets. Is it ok?

@@unclehoudini I have no idea what’s in chicken pellets but I wouldn’t recommend that, I think the best option is to get pellets specifically formulated for parrots and their dietary needs

Hi, pellets are essential in a bird's diet. If you give seed only, I'm sure you know, the sunflower seeds go first (too fatty). Then, all my birds get more veggies, than fruit. I don't have your pellet brands in OZ.
@PoodlesandParrots3 жыл бұрын
That's great! Veggies and quality pellets are very important well done! Harrison's I believe they have different distributors in different countries - TOPs usually do as well and BirdTricks is only in the USA. I have been able to find both TOPs and Harrison's in different countries - I would suggest emailing them I am sure they can help!

You will need to transition them to a no seed diet - I have a video on how to get your bird to eat veggies - kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3jcf2d8bdiMZ9U you can sneak in pellets in birdie bread, in with chop, and even use some of the tactics in this video. Hope that helps! Seeds or nuts should be given as treats
