Peloton Tread vs NordicTrack 2450: A TOUGH Choice!

Apparently, peloton thought the best comeback approach was to RAISE their prices by almost 50% on their equipment no one was buying 😂. If y'all still want the tread, wait a few months when they go bankrupt and firesale everything.

However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. So having owned both, i prefer the Peloton, the build quality and 'experience' is much better and the Nordictrack came with one of the fans broken. tried to get it fixed but it wasn't the fans that was the problem, its was something more in depth. What i did like about the Nordic was the automatic incline when running out on the guided runs. But as mentioned i found the 'experience' is better with Peloton.

What also needs to be considered is the aesthetics of the device. For those of us with more limited space or no option but to leave these in display I really have to consider the Peloton over the hideous Nordictrack. Yes, the Nordic may fold and use less floor space but it is just so ugly.... The Peloton looks very nice and is a beautiful piece of furniture when not in use.

I have the Nordictrack 2450 treadmill...and after 5 months...mine has started to FULL STOP very suddenly in the middle of a run. It happens regularly. Usually, at high sprints, it goes black and turns off. Circuits in my house are fine, it's the circuit in the machine that throws. I've called a dozen times and they've given me as many "fixes" for it (dedicated circuit, lube, take the hood off, live video assessments, various speeds, various times of day, various temperatures, etc.). Nothing works. I showed them a video...now they want me to sign a release of liability before they'll send someone to come look at it. Like they're holding me hostage. Great treadmill if it works...terribly dangerous if it does what mine is doing. Still not fixed...5 months in...still paying it off...doesn't work...no support. So bummed.

So, Brent, given another 6 months have gone by, have you had ANY success in getting it resolved? It's certainly a major issue if support just simply isn't there and reflects that NordicTrack isn't supporting it's product even after such a short time after purchase.

I bought the peloton tread. The logistic company they use the ship, XPO, never actually delivered the item. I had to cancel the order. We rescheduled 3 times at this point. They promise delivery, and never show up. Can’t keep taking work days off for no reason.

Same thing keeps happening to me. They delivered 3 broken ones and then no showed 4 times to drop off a new one. I’m over it. Here to see if I’ll be upset with a NordicTrack. Sounds like I won’t be.

I've been watching your videos for a while- thanks for the great info. Mt tread gets delivered on Tuesday- I have the OG bike and found the classes and instructors very helpful. I am pretty competitive and self motivated- but have found a much better, consistent workout with the classes and programs.

Very close, though the 1750 is definitely better value cost wise if classes are ignored. Foldable, bigger more comfortable belt, fan, wider incline range etc… Peloton uses better quality materials though and the manual knob controls are a lot nicer to use, and overall has a better look/design

I'm strongly considering purchasing one of these two models. I'm a 50yo man who's never been into fitness. I don't have any goals, such as weight loss (165#) per se, but rather I'm beginning to really feel the effects of a sedentary job and general lifestyle; I need to move more, and knock the rust off my knees and ankles. I'm really concerned about investing a lot of money on one of these machines and ultimately not using it. Perhaps the subscription could be a differentiator here. You compare them somewhat but I'm not sure I have a clear answer for me, given that there is almost zero chance I'd ever want to train beyond a 10k. Given this profile, which one do you feel may be better at keeping a novice engaged and possibly even motivated?

It’s definitely a tough choice. Peloton excels at workouts with great music and shorter workouts (20-30 min). NordicTrack has the space efficiency, and workouts are great if exploring various locations around the world would keep you motivated. Also another consideration is if you plan on running, or walking/hiking with the treadmill. If walking/hiking, I think NordicTrack is definitely the better choice.

In that case, the 1750 seems like a better value, given the difference to 2450 is only a larger screen, assuming that larger screen only gives a more in-depth feel/experience. $600 for what boils down to a slightly larger screen that you describe as a gimmick. What about the convenience? I’m definitely not excited about walking or running the neighborhood nor driving to the gym.

Last week she had 8 classes (2 bike, 1 run, 4 walk/walk+run, 1 core class).. which seems pretty usual. She's still in the filter for strength trainers for me on the app 🤷‍♂️

Idk what this guy is saying bc the peloton tread is over $3,000. Where is he getting these prices from? Even the link he has for peloton is $3,495. As for the Nordic track its $2,499. A thousand dollars difference….

Do NOT buy a Peloton treadmill. I bought one and they set a delivery date and no showed me 3 times so I cancelled the order. Then someone from corporate reached out and guaranteed it would get delivered and they no showed me 2 more times. He finally just cancelled my order. Not even an executive could get it delivered. I live in Nashville…not like I’m in the middle of nowhere. What a trash company.
