Pen Cayetano Belize In Mi Country song vintage 2008

Born in 1954 in Dangriga, Stann Creek District, Belize, Pen Cayetano is a painter, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and a cultural revivalist for the Garinagu. Pen Cayetano along with Mohobub Flores founded the Turtle Shell Band and the Punta Rock music genre in 1979.
From 1990 to 2008 Pen Cayetano lived with his family in Germany to where he had migrated. He and his German wife, Ingrid, returned to Dangriga in 2008. Cayetano has three children Malí, Beni and Ibo.
This vintage street recording of the song In Mi Country (Creole for: In My Country) was done by Manolo Romero in Dangriga in 2008 the same year the Cayetanos returned to Belize. Pen, his wife and Mali performing on the main street of Dangriga on Garifuna Settlement Day.
