Pen storage! How do you know if you’re supposed to store your pens horizontally or vertically? Every pen is different so you have to check. Once you know how it should be stored, how do you set up your pens in a way that will work? In this video, I show you a few different options you have for pen storage!

I love the round 360 makeup organizers. It holds a lot of pens that I can just spin to find the pen that I want. It also makes putting them away a breeze.

Pen storage is a whole other fun part of journaling, lol. I've often changed from type, brand, color, theme when grouping them. Not to mention from different cases to open trays and back to cases, trays, etc. Thank goodness I no longer use pens that have to be stored vertically. While general swatching is fun to watch for a new pen review, it never worked out to be a useful purpose for me as a reference. You going over a list of all your pens and rating them would be cool.

I keep my Stabilo Point 88/Pen 68/Pen 68 Brush in their color parade packaging (20 pen sets), and I also keep 4-18 pen sets that come in wallets in their wallet. I also have Crayolas in cardboard boxes. Loose pens, single pen cardboard boxes or blister packs I discarded the packaging (if any) and use pen cases or cups.

Ah, so organized!! I usually don't keep my pens in their original packaging - unless its like, a specialty tin or something really cool - I'm a sucker for gorgeous packaging. I've switched up my storage a bit, but right now, my pens are sorted into little sections made out of cardboard in a 3 drawer Sterlite container for easy access.

The only ones I keep in their original packs are my zebra mildliners. No particular reason, but the packaging is pretty sturdy! Looking forward to more office videos!

At 1:39 what would that storage be called at michaels..? Would it be in craft section as oppose to art supply

It could be in a few different sections. There’s a craft storage section with lots of plastic containers. It could also be in the embroidery section or the bead section. There are different types but you want to make sure you get one that has removable slots to make it big enough for pens. Another thing to look for is the closure. The one in my video just clicks, not super secure which is fine for pens. I have one for beads that has actual clips that lock into place. I think I got that one at Joann. But these kind of storage bins are also at places like Walmart! You could search “craft storage organizer” or something like that. I hope that helps!

I use metal buckets from the dollar store. I never thought to read and find out how to store my pens.
