I use Staedtler Textsurfer highlighters in my journals! Mine are flat tip but they are flexible, and not chiseled and firm! I love them so much because they work well AND they are a lot cheaper than brush pens. Plus, they aren't too juicy and so it works well on regular paper. The colours are limited and so I bought several packs because I want to make my own ink and refill them to make my own custom coloured "brush pens". Not sure how to make the ink. I gotta figure something out!

Yes, flat tip! Just regular highlighters. They don't come in different sizes. You can try other brands, too. I don't recommend Lyra. It's too soft and so thin upstrokes are a struggle!

The Monami now has a set of 48 colours (and even 54 on some websites), I have the set of 36 and I love it! You get nice thicker strokes with time. Thank you 🙏 Sarah for sharing your passion with us . Be safe 😘

Chromatek makes watercolor brush pens meant for art, but they have actual nylon-bristle brush tips and while I haven't used them for writing, you can get an enormous range of line widths from them. And the price point is low enough to allow for experimenting without going broke. (Zig does a very similar pen at about three times the cost.)

I also use bic Brite liners. They have a chisel tip, but you can push on the thin side, and you'll get pretty good thick and thin strokes. There aren't many colors, but the pink and orange are some of my favorites. 😊

I wld really love to use highlighters as brush pens to save money and continue using the coloured highlighters i love so much! The staedtler looks so cool! Also love the dot markers, but they are quite tough to hand letter with :(

Staedtler has a full marker line with 32 colors with this same tip as the Triplus Highlighter! They’re called the Staedtler Triplus Color (1mm fiber tip) I LOVE these! Stabilo also has a pen line with an almost identical tip called the Stabilo Pen 68, which is just as fabulous. I am ordering the Monami based on your recommendation! Excited to give those a try!

I just got the Monami pens and they are wonderful! If you like them, you might like the Arteza TwiMarker. One end is a brush pen and the other end is just like the monami and they come in a ton of colors!

Hi!! I wanted to say that I've tried the staedler highlighters and at first I loved them. I used them a lot. But after a few months, the tip of some of them literally broke. I was so disappointed. I hope this helps someone! ❤️❤️

@@saloni.sharma tbh I've used them mainly as brush pens, not as highlighters. But from what I've tried they work very well for note taking, because you don't need the nib to be as flexible as for a brushpen.

Indeed, They break really easily, so I would not recommend them for Brush lettering. I broke one of mine like in a week, just using them like a highlighter.

I can see how they might be tricky for highlighters because you have to give exactly the same amount of pressure to get the same size of line. But for lettering, I love them! I've used them everyday for the past two weeks!

Do just the "Highlighter" tri Pens a good job in handlettering, or the another Staedler Tri Pen(colour) Series in general?

Try lil hands coloring pens, they are like crayola supertips but they have very unique colors. You could also try colorpeps longlife markers, the tip is similar but a lot smaller💖hope it can help!! Btw, love your videos!!🥰💝 Ps. The two markers has 24 colors😊

Love this video. The 'Maped Color'peps Longlife Pens' can also be used for handlettering. It looks kinda similar to Crayola supertips and is pretty cheap where I live

Oooh, I love the colors. questions: do you every do any adult coloring? I thought maybe you could review all your markers/pens for coloring too. I learned how to letter but I don’t really do it a lot, even though I love doing it. I’m also a pen/marker whore. I mean it’s bad. I have spent thousands on them. I have bought even more since I found your channel. 😆 I prefer alcohol markers but I think they’re a challenge to use in smaller details. I’m going to add these to my collection. Loved the Staedtler Triplus and how they wrote like brush pens, but the colors were just too light for me. What would you say is similar to the Staedtler - Crayola Super Tips, Monami Live Color, or Tombow TwinTone Markers? Or something else completely?

Crayola super tips! They have that squishy tip still (though not as rounded) and they're a little more vibrant than staedtler so you may like that more!
