Our today’s interviewee:
Leszek Zabłocki (born in 1924 in Warsaw), a veteran, member of the Military Organization Lizard Union during World War II, prisoner of Pawiak (Warsaw) and three concentration camps. In September 1939, as a member of the air defense in Warsaw he was tasked with putting out incendiary bombs. During the occupation his father managed to get released from a roundup by pretending to be a city clerk. Leszek Zabłocki joined the resistance movement and the Military Organization Lizard Union, but soon afterwards he was arrested after being recognized by an informant in a photograph found among the belongings of his friend who lived in the same building and who got captured by the Germans. Detained in the Pawiak prison, he was subjected to a brutal interrogation. He witnessed the persecution of Jewish prisoners. After the interrogation, he was placed in a solitary cell, where he was trying to keep himself occupied and not to think about his future. From time to time, the Germans subjected him to penal exercises which always led to a beating.

Wow! As a scout leader, I would like hear more of the activities of the Polish Boy Scouts during this time. I would also love to somehow get the privledged teenagers in my troop to somehow understand the true meaning of Patriotism that these young men of the time clearly lived.

God bless and keep those gallant & loyal men. Little Tony from the Royal Canadian Legion was maybe 5 feet tall, but as a young man in the Polish resistance, he did the business. It's strange to look at a friendly, smiling little old fella & realize he knows 100 ways to kill you with his bare hands. ✌❤ from Canada

Shameful! The man in the video said it early in the video, "they are racist, there's no other way to put it" It seems this trancends generations! The most racist people in Europe are west of the Oder!....to this day, truly shameful! Could you imagine, being an old german soldier, hm from war, and being asked; Opa, what did you do during the war! Answer: Well, I killed all then men in this Polish village, the we burned the houses and threw the babies in the fire, if they hid in the basement, we thru grenades to them, or they roasted alvie in the inferno!....so on and so forth. The German people should embark on a Thousand Year Apology!
@andreasotto452

@@SK-qc6fb SK, what you are writing is not historically correct! If a dictatorship overrides human rights in Poland, as in Germany, not all Germans are racists! I understand that you were emotionally moved by the story of the Polish Boy Scout. But crimes against humanity were also committed by the Soviets, if you think back to the 4,000 Polish officers murdered by Russian intelligence in Katyn. Such atrocities are possible in all nations when law and order are overridden by a dictatorship! What does being German have to do with racism? Nothing at all! In all of Germany's eastern regions, Poles and Germans have lived together respectfully for centuries, which was made impossible by the Nazi terror. There were also people in Germany who fought underground against the Nazi dictatorship, who saved Jews and other people from the Holocaust at risk of death. But not for an end in itself, but out of charity and compassion! The German churches also opposed the Nazi dictatorship and wherever possible they helped people to flee! Therefore, I do not believe in collective guilt and black and white painting! Only overcoming nationalism and marginalization will save us from a new war. I don't want to offset anything, but wherever Poland has made territorial claims, e.g. to Czechoslovakia, people had to leave their homeland! Damn nationalism, which only creates strife in the world! ...

@@andreasotto452 Read what Preacher M wrote, if you are German, whats your reaction to that? You dont think its shameful, or as the man in the video said 'racist' for someone to tell this poor old man, who went thru great suffering to 'go die already (endlich schlafen)'?
