I'm a beginner too at this and my friend who does parchment told me to try leaves by putting dark down the outside 3/4 then light in the middle, on the tip and over the rest with just a bit of dark at the stem. I'm finding it hard but I am enjoying it and like you I have new pencils. Loving this tutorial x

Great job, Ann. I’ve been coloring with pencils for years and you’re really doing a great job. I do typically use watercolor pencils because they blend very easily and you really never see a demarcation between the shades. You may have been referring to having watched Kelly Latavola on You Tube. She’s a colored pencil genius. It’s a beautiful card and a beautiful job

Hi Ann, stunning card,the black as gold set the colours off beautifully. Have you watched any of the other You Tube videos on colouring ,there are some fantastic colourist out there, and how they mix different colours together amazes me. But word of warning ,I started with a set of Polycromos and one pencil case same as yours,now over two years I've five pencil cases filled !!! If you don't mind a helpful tip regarding blending your alcohol markers,try laying down your lightest color all over first ,then through your darker colors ,to your darkest,then blend all over with the lightest again . I think some colours blend better than others ,I find purples and some reds diffucult. Anyhow look forwards to seeing more videos. Happy New Year X

Beautiful card. I think most folk find it easier with pencils than pens, because with pencils you can put more pressure or less to get a blend, where pens you can’t. Two or three shades are always the best to choose before you start colouring then you know what your doing. Anyway it’s really beautiful. Try using different colours of card, they bring so many effects xxxAnnxxx
@PositivelyPapercraft4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ann. I am loving the pencils but like i say, finding the alcohol markers a lot harder lol. Loving colouring though, you get sick of the same thing all the time xxx
@craftylittlerthings4 жыл бұрын
Another reason you should live closer I could teach you with the pens, I think if you remember pick three different shades of colour for each thing it will help, you can use that with pencil colouring to. I’ve done every craft you can mention just about, that’s why it looks like I have so much stuff, it’s not just paper craft, I like to have a change. Gradually sorting what to get rid of!! Anyway enjoy it more than worrying if it’s right, because if it looks good in your eyes then it’s right xxxx

Do you set your with water or something else? I’ve been using pencils for 70 years, started in Jr. high school. I just can’t seem to get the feel of alcohol markers. I’m not a pro by any means but I’ve always liked my pencils better than any other medium. I’ve tried different things to set the color and blend them. I’ve even used only 1 color and with a small damp paint brush I can drag the color and blend it that way too. Thank you so much for showing us, I will be following you on these tutorials.
