Welcome to the heavy spoilers show I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down The Penguin.

Episode 4 is a gas and it ends in a way that leaves a hell of a lot to talk about. Throughout this video we're gonna be going through the eater eggs, hidden details and all the things we learned. We did have a theory time confirmed about who the hangman was but there's also a lot of other things in it.
So come with us as we visit the serious house on serious earth and learn exactly what Sofia got up to in Arkham. This is one of my favourite episodes of TV that I've seen in such a long time and I feel like Cristin Miliotti might get an Emmy. Throughout she goes from a bright eyed innocent defender of the family to someone whos willing to take the all out.
It's such an amazing turn and we begin during the episode where we left things last week with Oz and Sofia being held up. We start with the camera in a puddle and then pan up to see the pair being held.
Now we have see this camera set up used before and it's how we started things in episode 1. There we began at the iceberg lounge with wet footprints laced along the floor. We then panned up and got a focus on Oz before we followed the character for the rest of the episode.
So its nice that they reuse this framing device as this is the first time we're following Sofia.

Oswald is still influential as he leads all the Falcone drug operations and formed allies during his time at the Iceberg Lounge. The surviving Falcone lieutenants would likely not want Sofia so they may side with Oz. Sofia killed her family yes but she made Oswald’s coup a lot easier. Sofia spent ten years in Arkham while Oswald spent ten years forming connections. Oswald is not a nobody as many higher up criminals know him and have a history with him.

Rush reminds me of Mad Hatter from Batman: TAS. He was a neuroscientist who became obsessed with a woman who didn't return his feelings, so he used his mind control technology to take away her free will. Rush could do something similar with drugs.

There’s a conversation that Sophia has with Rush after her shower at his place (present day) where she references all of the doctors she went through during her stay at Arkham beginning with “Ventriss, and another, and another” so either he was killed, died naturally, or quit altogether. I hope she got to “get rid of him for good”, after his psychological recommendation kept her from having a fair trial & lead to 10 years being taken from her.

Just a random thought; Maria Kyle and others also likely don't get attributed to the Hangman's victims because Carmine stopped trying to make the murders look like suicides by hanging the victims after it was pinned on Sophia.

Summer Gleeson from Batman: The Animated Series. It's about breaking Sofia Falcone going to the extreme. It's about trying to make her guilty and she knows she is not guilty. Prison hardened her and once she got out of prison and stepped into Gotham City she realizes Gotham City is the prison and she is the warden. The Club 44 story from The Batman plays out so well in the flashback and what was really going on under Carmine Falcone and you got Kinsey from The Batman arresting Sofia Falcone in this flashback episode. The continuity again is so well done.

I love that the status quo is getting completely fucked up every episode. I thought Oz was gonna spend the whole series putting out fires that could out him as Alberto’s killer, but Sofia clocked it right away. Then somehow Oz still wins her over and then I think the rest of the show is gonna be them climbing the ladder together until it blows up in the end. Nope, Mrs. Maroney comes in and blows up the whole thing 45 minutes later. What the fuck is gonna happen next? Loving this shit.

Carmine killed his wife most likely because she found out about his affair with another girl which gave birth to Selina Kyle. Carmine also killed Selina’s mother so it’s not too far fetched to connect the murders. I mean hell he set up his own daughter just because he thought she was gonna rat him out. Goes to show how big the domino effect was that Carmine set up by killing Thomas Wayne and taking over renewal.

It's a type of therapy that helps people process traumatic experiences, by focusing on a moving red light they are able to access traumatic memories without being overwhelmed by them. Just watched it and had to pause on that too which made me laugh even harder. 😆 The episode started off slow but soon picked up and gave great insight into who Sofia Falconer is, a sympathetic figure in some respects like her new enemy the Penguin himself. Was disappointed we didn't see much of him in this episode but as you can see after watching it, it was necessary. Characters are rich and complex and the Penguin with his dark humor makes this show a hit. Oh and the Victor kid is an up and comer, cool character. Can't wait until next Sunday! Hope the season has 20 episodes like Breaking Bad or The Sopranos!

I am not one who knows the crucial little details of actors, meanings and subtle hints through cinematography, but I definitely think the lady is superb in this role and how she conveys what she went through. Colin Farrel is unbelievably great too. But I was blown away by the cinematography and how they shot the whole episode, it was just so good. If this show doesn't get Emmy nominations and a few wins, I will be disappointed for real. The only problem I had with it, was how she just happened to feel that "men" were the problem, where there were plenty of women who had to collaborate and give affidavits to get her committed. It is just that "Hollywood" has been shoving this "MESSAGE" of who were are supposed to like, admire and have pushed into our consciousness, whether we like it or not, has gotten so bad, that even a subtle jab like that is sickening and old. "It's all men that are the problem" err.. at least men that were born men, no problems with the women who become men instantly through will power, they are perfect and should be admired and more prominent in every way.... LOL

Depending on the gas, you can only really smell it if you walk into the room after it started leaking, if it leaks while your inside the room, you probably won't smell it
