SeaWorld Orlando has finally announced their big new attraction for next year- a family coaster to replace Antarctica Empire of the Penguin! This new Penguin themed multi launch coaster will take riders through an indoor, dark ride section before sending them out into the arctic for some twists and turns! We'll discuss their decision to go with another B&M, the renderings that were released, and the overall odd announcement that they made.

The Penguin dark ride was cute and honestly a well themed addition to the park. Great for families that don't like coaster too. Its really a shame they let the ride vehicles rot during covid shutdown. I suppose this can be a fun replacement but I feel they need to diversify themselves a little more than just more and more coasters. More animal exhibits, maybe a dark ride, another water ride, improve theming of existing areas and rides! There's lots they can do but their investors really think coasters are the only way to go.

Very interesting choice of B&M over Intamin. I'm mostly just glad that it's going to incorporate the animals more. I get why SeaWorld is not putting the animals as it's focus for new projects but fundamentally they are marine parks. I love how Manta actually incorporated an aquarium with real manta rays and I'm glad to see the park doing more of that.

I’m surprised Vekoma wasn’t in the mix either Big Bear Mountain is a great family ride but I’m imagining Pipeline and this were bundled together for a much cheaper deal plus their great relationship with B&M helps a lot too

This project looks very exciting to me--I cannot wait to see how it will turn out!! SeaWorld needs to add a Screamin-Swing just like Busch Gardens did to replace Rhino Rally, and it needs to be placed where the old Turtle Trek attraction used to be. That area is now just an empty show theater dome that is now housing clams, or mollusks and needs something fresh to bring it back to life!! I feel that a Screamin-Swing attraction in that area would be an excellent fit and it would definitely draw crowds to that back portion behind the dolphin show theater that always seems to look empty, because honestly-there just isn't very much in place to do there!! I can think of 3 names that could be possible contenders (yes they might be a little strange, but they could also be unique in their own way: Turtle Racer, Turtle Wave, and Raging Wave!!!! With Turtle Racer-both sides swing and it's possible either side could take the gold!! Turtle Wave is like a picture of a turtle entering into the water and a gentle wave crests over them when they return to the sea, and then Raging Wave is a representation of how fast both sides swing in opposing directions and it delivers thrills that anyone can enjoy!!! Thank you for letting me share my thoughts on this--I can definitely see these ideas as something SeaWorld may consider in the possible future!!!

Six Flags Great Adventure's B&Ms include 3 clones or relocations (Medusa was first, and not built to be cloned so I'm being nice in not counting it as a clone). SWO doesn't have any clones in their B&Ms. That makes SWO the B&M capitol of the world by my count.

I guess B&M has a couple of family coasters, but both are inverts in China. It's a smart move on their part to get into this market I think. Even though they're late to the party, they still seem to be up there as some of the most reliable rides, and combine their good reputation with the fact that they already have rides in so many parks, I think over time they could become one of the most popular family coaster manufacturers. I also like the fact that they produce their track here in the u.s., so they're supporting u.s. manufacturing jobs. I really need to make a trip to SeaWorld next time I'm in Orlando (maybe when epic universe opens)! As an aside, I have to agree with Sarah's take on penguins! I'd put them as number 3 for me on favorite animals, after red pandas, and otters

Nice video as always. Just two things. Didn't Mack start with the over the shoulder lapbar restraints? Intamin perfected them so it's interesting to see what B&M will make of it. Further the announcement could bet timed this way to please B&M because IAPPA Europe was this week?

I also think Mack started this type of seating, the story of Alpina Blitz being the Mack clone of Piraten is because Intamin would not improve the train and the seat

I wouldn't say Intamin perfected it. I found the Mack restraints far more comfortable than the new Intamin restraints. They are better contoured for laps. That said, the new Intamin OTS lap bars are an astronomic improvement over their first attempt with Skyrush.

The first concept of this roller coaster should have actually been made by INTAMIN, but it was to expensive for SeaWorld. That's at least what the Industrial Designer of Intamin (Raul Castro Nistan) told me. The initial concept actually looked very cool, it even went past the Manta Coaster till the beach.

... with Fury, Shambalah and Goliath out there I wouldn't put mako in the top 3 for the hyper model. With Flying Dinosaur, Tatsu & Starry Skies out there I wouldn't put manta in the top 3 flyers. With Medusa, Superman(Spain) and Dominator I wouldn't put Kraken in the top 3 Floorless. Pipeline goes by default and probably Penguin Trek too.

Me too! Mack did start the over-the shoulder lap bar restraint thing. But even still, B&M thinks they can be like Intamin. I'm sad SeaWorld isn't using Intamin for this. I am curious with all the problems with SeaWorld's new Intamins (except Manta seems fine) if SeaWorld is starting to shift to another main manufacturer. I sure hope B&M is a SeaWorld Orlando thing, as I want SeaWorld to carry tons of Intamin coasters into the US.

Dumb addition for the park, SWO didn't need a 3rd launch coaster. Sure it isnt as bad as the Universal Orlando resort and their stupidity in ONLY adding launch cossters (when Baron 1898 shows how you can thene a lift hill) when they NEED s major cosster without a launch aside from HRR. Epic Universe is a park I have zero hype for because of this issue. I don't want to see SWO turn into BGW, a park who has more launch coasters than they need and could benefit from axing at least one of them (Verbolten cough.). When a powered coaster is a better addition that an indoor multi-launch, you don't need to build that.

SP&E must have gotten a great deal on 3 B&M coasters. With Pipeline, Penguin Trek, and Pheanix Rising all being prototype coasters.
