Hi, I want you to make me one like this, with the power to start a car with a dead car battery, and that lasts longer with fast charging and replaceable battery cells in a plastic box like Nio's. It should have a temperature sensor, 3 USB-C inputs, one micro USB, one male USB, and one female USB just in case. And don't forget a 10W or more if u can Qi Induction Charger or Air Charge if it's not too much to ask. Challenge, welcome in France & AIRBUS Technology ...!

@@MrRugal00 I appreciate your recommendation but I'm a student and I don't have any time and/or resources to do all of this, combined with the fact I rarely even make my own projects due to my study load... and as per what I know you can't really make one such battery pack make of lithium batteries which can start a car with a dead battery, it can surely charge the dead car battery but when it comes to starting a car with lithium batteries, I don't find it possible... and even if you manage such a huge battery it would need it's own charging circuit and BMS, and it would overcomplicate everything, remember.. there's always a reason there's something known as jumpstarter cable, all you need is another car, and when your car doesn't start, just sit in it and ask someone to push, you can manage to start it that way.. and if you have nothing such available, it makes sense to have a backup. also you should contact a professional not some random 9 months old comment lol

But a little piece of advice for the battery assembly, you could stick a layer of duct tape or foam tape to prevent the small plate from puncturing the battery sticker so it wouldn't cause any short circuit. Also, for the BMS could have a foam tape undeneath it to prevent from short circuit.

I must say it is a nice built, but the title is a bit missleading. The batterypack has not 20Ah if it has got an nominal output voltage of around 22,2V because all cells are in series, as you can see in minute 7:30 (24,92V under no load). The Batterypack itself has therefore around 3333mah with 22,2V. In the description he states he has 20000mAh with 6 cells each has 3.7V. But they are not put in Parallel. I do not mean to accuse him of any intentional missleading, but just wanted to point out, that the title is not correct. It definetily makes for a better title than 3333mah ;D

20000 mAh 😂😂😂😂😂
@x-gamessimulator1067 Жыл бұрын
20000? How is it possible to get 20000 mAh with 6 connected in series? It would take 42 lithium 3.7 volt 3000 mAh cells connected in series with 6 cells giving 24 volts to get 20000 mAh! 6 cells connected in series increases the voltage to 24 volts but still has 3000 mAh because there is no parallel connection.

@blubbspinat9363 Жыл бұрын
This is a very nicely done project with some very good ideas that are worth taking inspiration from. Thank you very much for making it! May i suggest you add reverse biased diodes to the outputs of each BMS? I learned the hard way that a BMS can be fried when it turns off while being in series with another that doesn't and a load passes current. Then, due to the negative voltage presented on its input, the controller can burn out. A (Schottky) diode limits that voltage to a safe level and prevents damage. A simple and cheap addition with great effect. Happy DIYing!
@neoochii2 ай бұрын
saw an youtube video and he said its okay to parallel bms
@blubbspinat93632 ай бұрын
@@neoochii Yes, parallel is usually not a problem, but when being at the edge of the charge limit, it could oscillate. This is usually harmless and can be avoided with MLCCs close to the BMS. But in a series configuration, the BMS that cuts off the current first will suddenly see negative voltage at its output. I've been there and got burned. The cells usually won't be damaged, but the BMS will be toast. If you ad a reverse biased diode parallel to each BMS in the series configuration, the reverse voltage will be clamped to a safe value that the BMS can usually handle. I have tested and can confirm this works.
@neoochii2 ай бұрын
@@blubbspinat9363 thnaks for the info,btw i got another question regarding the video ,if he put a step up module then it simply convert 5v from type c to 26volt to power the battery , why did he need to put a trigger in type c module then
@blubbspinat93632 ай бұрын
@@neoochii The battery has much more than 5V. Not all USB-C chargers can deliver a high enough voltage to use just a step down converter. But you also would not want to limit a much more capable charger to 15W, which is the maximum specified by USB-C PD at 5V. That is why you want a trigger that negotiates the maximum voltage your converter can handle to achieve the best charging power no matter which charger is connected.

Yes that's right. But the capacity of all power banks is calculated with a voltage of 3.7 volts. Because they are going to charge the mobile battery which is 3.7 volts.
@socatekun2 жыл бұрын
@@PenguinDIY Wrong, basic rule for total Power is Volts(total) times Amps(total) = Watts , the capacity in your case is not calculated by number of cells and voltage, if you ever open a power bank and you find 3 cells in series the capacity is calculated like this, total voltage of the cells combined times the cell current, if the cells are parallelly connected its cell voltage times parallel current, in your case you have 6 cells X 3.7V= 22.2Vx 3.35A( since you have none in parallel the current stays the same)=74.37W, if you have used a 3S2P BMS your capacity would be the same. Not sure where did you find the capacity of the powerbank is calculated by total number of cells present.
@deang56222 жыл бұрын
The way to perform the calculation is to do it in Wh. Calculate the Wh for each cell then sum them up. Then it doesn't matter if cells are in parallel or series.

huge spasiba for making this video. I generally do not watch this type of content (anymore), not even out of curiosity, as most recent "diy" channels are not showing any real crafting and tinkering, techniques with character and passion- i.e like your case working especially. Instead of actually doing things one could find inspiration in, they seem to be nothing more than a part of the instant-pleasure loop of downloadable/printable/pcbway-able replication virus that is dumbing down a generation of curious but unwilling and lazy 3D-printing consumers. Videos like yours made me engage in engineering and finding love in doing things in a way that pleases me, and not manufacturers. And it really brings up hope and forgotten feelings of engagement reading the comments of people being stunned by your resin work, many of which maybe never heard of any other enclosure-making techniques besides the ones that come as an .stl file. Please keep up with your spirit as long as it allows to - I know you are aware of how precious your content is, a rare type of gem sadly buried deep beneath a wall of commercial lookalikes. spasiba
