Vampire Academy: A Glimpse of the Peacock Original Series Panel | San Diego Comic-Con 2022

Showrunners and executive producers Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Legacies) and Marguerite MacIntyre (The Originals, Legacies) join series regulars Sisi Stringer (Rose Hathaway), Daniela Nieves (Lissa Dragomir), Kieron Moore (Dimitri Belikov), and Andre Dae Kim (Christian Ozera) to discuss Peacock’s highly anticipated Vampire Academy, based on the internationally bestselling book series-a story of friendship, romance, and danger. In a world of privilege and glamour, two young women’s friendship transcends their strikingly different classes as they prepare to complete their education and enter vampire society. One as a powerful Royal, the other a half-vampire Guardian trained to protect against the savage ‘Strigoi’ who threaten to tear their society apart. That is if Royal infighting doesn’t do the job first. The cast partakes in a Q&A live panel and gives an exclusive first look, moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Sydney Bucksbaum. The series is from Universal Television and will premiere on Peacock on September 15.

Okay why no ONE talks about this cute moment in 19:42-19:48 between Andre and Daniela? Mad shipp🥹🤭 The way Kieran pulls out the chair for Sisi at the start, the way he leans on to hug her at 11:05 and then her fixing his hair🤧, that cute moment 21:33-21:44 is everything, «your version of Rose helped me find my Dimitri» at 38:45-38:48 & that hug at 39:12-39:13😭, the way they both stare at each other! You can tell they truly love and support each other so much!! Having your dream job and gaining friends for life, that’s a different kind of flex!💗

I’m disappointed that Dimitri Belikov is not Russian but this cast is so perfect. Sisi, Dani, Kieron and Andre are LITERALLY their characters, they have all of the same characteristics, it’s crazy actually how similar they are.

It doesn't look like they're following the timeline of the books, it seems this first season is both about Lissa & Rose's return to St Valdimirs & the monarchy getting a new crown, so I wouldn't be waiting for the Russia story line if I were you.

Since they are changing alot of things I wonder are they going to change rose backstory in the show what was it like for rose growing up what's her relationship with her mother going to be like and what kinda person her mother would be like I can't wait to see badass rose hathaway I can't wait to see the intense lovestory between rose and dimitri and the friendship between lissa and rose and between rose and mason I really they keep the character traits of rose being feisty, tough, says what she feels and believes and very protective over lissa they made rose mother black In the show in the books she's white with red hair and her dad was black or Turkish you get the point so I wonder are they going to make her dad white at some point when they decide to bring rose dad in the picture I hope they keep abe background that his this very powerful mobster I don't know why but I loved that I'm trying to keep an open mind about this show I know alot of people judging it and I'm one fingers crossed that they prove everyone including me wrong because I always wanted someone to make something a series something about rose hathaway/dimitri and rose/lissa even though it's been a long time and haven't really thought about it

If they are a fan of Joseph I get why they want him to be part of the show and be a new character. But it's still weird, because he is already widely known as one vampire, and suddenly if he portray another vampire character, both his characters would conflict. I mean it is not impossible or unethical in any means. But yeah what you said. Still very weird.

yeah, sure, add people of color, add queer representation, let actors keep their accents, but erase all the Russian that was in the books. Dimitri Belikov only now has the name that somehow reminds of all the Russian stuff in the books, "thanks" for not changing that at least. How's that fair?
