Dead Fantasy is how I discovered Monty back before he made RWBY. He was a fantastic animator, and had so much talent in it. That's how I was aware of RWBY in the first place, because I enjoyed Monty's work prior. Haloid is another series that he did, and that was really good too.

What really makes the bad parts of the community so unbearable that they just assume criticism means you hate the show. These people don't understand balance, moderation, or anything of the sort. They're literally the line from Star Wars. "Only the Sith deal in absolutes", and they do. They can't perceive any kind of middle ground, for some reason. To them it's Pitch Black, or Stark White. You either love the show or hate it, and trying to deal with them from within the grey areas is an action they respond to as if it were an attack on their very person. You would think that a show that was practically built and based upon the concept of colors and the individuality they express would be more open minded. Like, honestly? More than any of the problems with the actual show or RoosterTeeth as a company, it's ultimately the fanbase and just how nonsensically divided it is that tarnishes the show the most. When I dropped the show halfway into v8, I didn't drop it because the show was bad, I dropped it because the community is trash nowadays and it finally burned out any desire I had to even watch the show. I've gotten back into it now, but the fact remains. This fanbase has long since gone to shit, no one knows why, and more importantly no one knows how to fix it. Instead, the scarce good portions of the fanbase just remain mostly silent and fade into obscurity, seemingly without much care. Well, I say that, but we all know where the good portions went, they migrated to the fanfic sites, and the NSFW Reddit. 😂

I've been busy, but doing well! Thank you very much! I hope you've been doing well also. Yeah, Volume 9 is absolute garbage. I've been caught up on it, and it just gets worse and worse as each chapter releases. I'll be getting more reviews out on it soon, as well as other content. I have no idea what's up with RT and suicide, it's absolutely awful, and the characters are worse than ever, and even more out of character than usual.

Even though I'm going to be critical of RWBY (especially those fucking Bees), this show still holds a place in my heart, as it helped me to start overcoming life-threatening depression and my grandfather's passing. This was when V6 was about to air. Now, several years later, RT is nothing short of a hypocritical cesspool that doesn't want to admit they've fucked up. Shane Newville was right. He was right about everything. I honestly believe this is the end of RWBY. It's only on Crunchyroll going up against shows like Hell's Paradise, Buddy Daddies, Demon Slayer, and many more. The ratings are bound to be horrible as a result of this. It's been a good run, RWBY, but I guess it's finally time to say goodbye.

11:22 Honestly I can give you a better example of Monty not having everything planned out: Adam's character. V3 is the point where Adam's character does a complete 180 within a single volume. He goes from not caring about Blake running around and telling the White Fang Lieutenant that they had more important things to do during Cinder's flashback to the Battle at Beacon where his out of nowhere obsession with Blake becoming the focal point of him to the point he basically destroys the White Fang and abandons his goal of making the world better for Fanus just to kill Blake. He is always my go to character whenever someone wants to say Roosterteeth has been following Monty's plans and notes because there is a clear cut change to Adam from what Monty was clearly intending to go with his character and how the writers, once Monty was gone, decided to make Adam's character be.

And there's proof about it too. In Shane's letter he mentions that everything they had for Blake and Yang vs Adam was scrapped off, they didn't look at the script and they told him they'd reuse the animations later. And guess what? It did happen, a few years after the letter we saw that work in v6. I'm not saying Shane was right about everything he said in his letter but it's certainly an interesting coincidence

Thank god, i'm no longer a rwby fan after i watched the vol 4 of rwby because without monty, it's not the same without his greatness, and he also was one of my huge inspiration along with other huge inspiration people like tite kubo, kentaro miura, george lucas, yoshihiro togashi, hayao miyazaki, gabe newell, marc laidlaw, satoshi tajiri, masamune shirow, genndy tartakovsky and J. The RWBY fandom shitting on someone for having genuine criticism isn't surprising. It also isn't surprising that they can't pay attention to their surroundings and see what's really going on. The RWBY fanbase is also filled with a bunch of hypocrites, claiming someone is using Monty's name in vain when they do the same thing every single time someone mentions how dogshit the show is currently, claiming time and time again that *everything* about the show was planned from the start when that isn't true and will never be true. Things change over time, as evidenced by the sudden added lore and characters introduced in later episodes during the first two seasons. The show looked interesting at the start, but over time it starts to look boring and uninteresting. Not helping things is the animation quality of the recent season. I've seen better animations done in Garry's Mod, SFM, MMD and Blender.

Even from the start, RWBY had very little direction, the character Miles created (Jaune) had more development than Ruby herself and the Maidens were inserted in Volume 3 with no hint towards them early on and this person really thinks Monty planned all the way to Volume 9? Yeah, he created it but really, his talent was more in the fights than the storytelling which was poor even in the first 3 volumes.

@@dracolordnick6779 Its a thing that really pisses me off, this entire volume is supposed to be the team defining themselves as Huntresses(which they omitted that they kill grimm at all, only that they "help people") so when its time to actually embody putting saving a life above their ego's they wont do it. Granted yes, Neo is a threat and has done horrific things this volume but if there was ever a time to make an appeal for humanity this should be it. Ruby failed protecting Roman from the grimm, she doesn't even tell or rationalize the grimm are what killed him to Neo when confronted, nor does Ruby even care. Now history is repeating itself for Ruby and she's going to learn nothing. Empathy and Humanity are what is supposed to stop Salem and yet team rwby embody the virtues of neither. Emerald forced herself on the good guys team not because she genuinely regrets her decisions but because Salem scares the ever living shit out of her. Hazel switched teams with out team rwbys involvement and we are to assume team rwby will appeal to Cinders ever growing lack of Humanity before confronting Salem? No. They should at least TRY to save Neo from her self, from the cat. But how can I expect that level of writing when they have all the main characters cheering suicide as the best thing ever in this latest episode. The whole affair with the people pleasers is disgusting, their literally cleaning up after their old corpses oblivious and paints Jaune as wrong for wanted to value and protect life, to offer them alternatives to mass suicide, to educate them, offer them hobbies, be part of their lives and expand their interests beyond their purpose and the writing says, "no that's wrong, don't grow beyond your narrow sense of self, just kill your self, its fine." Its absolutely infuriating that the people pleasers literally tell team Rwby, where, when and how they are going to kill all of themselves and they never mention it to Jaune, didn't even try to attempt to to follow Jaunes list, calls them imaginary after they die and then one episode later celebrates the genocide of a village because now they are rocks now and more durable than before. Wonder what lengths they will need to go to to kill themselves again when they grow tired of this job and they are nearly indestructible. This volume isn't just hell bent on being pointless but it is actively advocating self destructive messaging to a fanbase we know are full of impressionable and gullible twits. But going back to Neo, I expect team Rwby to take nothing away, to leave yet another place far worst off than when they arrived with more avoidable corpses because they don't want to put the effort in when it comes to actually defending life like they claim they want to.

@@Kushrada You're right, the message to this volume has been absolutely atrocious. The writers have some disgusting fascination with suicide, and Team RWBY lack any form of empathy or humanity at all. Another issue I have is that the characters just don't care about anyone except themselves, and Ruby not even making an effort to try and save Neo, or tell her about the Grimm killing Roman is horrible. I love how the team tries to say that they save others, but they just lead a trail of destruction wherever they go. They also treat the creatures in the Ever After like they don't really exist, but they live just like they do, yet they let them die and act like it's no big deal at all. It's awful, not letting the creatures learn to grow beyond what they know, it's just like saying they aren't anything after they serve their purpose. As if they're a broken tool afterwards, and they learn nothing from it. The writers also didn't learn anything from the Volume 5 Weiss death fake out either. Killing Ruby leads to no consequences, and no growth for any of the characters either. It was just used to gain attention to the show, and it's an awful scene. Also I think you're right, just like with Atlas, the Ever After will only be worse off after RWBY arrived to it. It's all one huge dumpster fire.

Weiss is quite literally the only part of vol. 9 that I like since out of all the main cast she doesn't outright piss me off and every time I see her I just say "God do i wish Weiss & Winter were in a better show". Also really pisses me off that talented va's like Luci Christian(The talking mouse) and Robbie Daymond(The curious cat) are being wasted on this shit show. P.S. To add to Rooster Teeth being transphobic Jessie James Grelle(Formally Josh Grelle) who was the va of Tyrian from what I understand cut all ties from Rooster Teeth since as they were transgender they wanted nothing to do with a company like that anymore and cut all ties with them which I 100% agree with. They're also the english dub va of Armin in Attack on Titan which is my favorite performance from them.
