Competitive Splatoon: S+99 Japanese Scrims w/ Deadbeat feat. Gawata

Thanks for all of the support so far while I was at the E3 Splatoon 2 World Championship! I am back now, and in this video, we asked the very talented Japanese player Gawata to sub for us in some scrims. It was very fun playing with him. Hope you guys enjoy the new video format!

Your Blaster play is jaw dropping! Your spacing and movement is super clean and you always make the shot count. I used to play Blasters when I played but I could never make them work this well. Also, I'm sure you've been getting this a lot but big ups on the E3 win! If there are similar events in the future, I'd love to see Deadbeat again :)

For a Stealth Jump user, I was surprised to see some matches where you didn't super jump at all. Interesting. Also, how much does Bomb Range Up help on Grim? I've always run enough Ink Saver Sub for an extra combo per tank, but does Bomb Range really allow you to make any kind of plays which aren't possible without it?

Yeah for Blackbelly, I don't run Stealth Jump and just forgot to take it off, haha. Some small maps, I don't like to run stealth jump. Regarding bomb range on the Grim, I personally do not use it at all because it throws off my burst bomb combos because I overestimate the range.

Just to communicate, yeah. Most of the time it doesn't really help, but there's always that one time someone actually sees it
