Saturday the 11th May, running the Penistone parkrun.
226th parkrun and 1st at Penistone.
First time to Penistone and quite a warm morning for running hard.
Starting with 1 lap of the Penistone Show Ground, before heading west along the Trans Pennine Trail, turning around then heading back along the TPT, then heading back on and up the Show Ground field to finish.
Bit of a dew on the grass making the start and finish areas a little slippery in well worn road shoes.
After not feeling 100% this week with a hacking cough and high temperature, not running since last week, the legs felt heavy from the start!
Tried to settle into a decent pace and then hold on.
On the return trip the legs were feeling slow and the lungs were complaining but managed to get back to finish a reasonable 20:28.
Official finishing time of 20:28
13th placed finisher out of 232 and 3rd in the 40-44 age group
My PB remains at Clumber Park parkrun 19:28 ( • Clumber Park, parkrun ... )
