This was the most calming performance I've ever seen on this show. It's like a cross between magic and meditation. It's the calming of her plot, voice, and narration. Just wonderful. And how the heck are you so poised with Penn & Teller sitting there? Really well done and I wish you the best.

what I love about this show is that "losing" isn't really losing, it's being told how great the trick was Because they figured it out. Even when then figure it out they still apprieciate how great the tricks are.
@christophalexander45423 жыл бұрын
Indeed - even if they "lose" - they were already CHOSEN to be there. And we know this show isn't a cheap freak-show where they intentionally show inepts. Just being there means you have a good trick, or obvious potential.
@KucheKlizma3 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can only go up from there I'd imagine.
@salia28973 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I really love that too. It is not like these talent shows, where they need losers that are humiliated by some "judges". All the people selected are good enough to do magic professionally, and even if they don't manage to fool them, they are treated very kindly and get some publicity out of that and the audience appreciates the performance. After I've watched a few of these, I already know that someone did not fool them, when Penn starts in a really kind tone and explains what he liked about the trick and the presentation. So nobody leaves there with their dreams destroyed.

I've watched so many of these now and I love the way that Penn's code is so encouraging to the magicians. He's not patronising or condescending and he doesn't spoil the tricks for those people who don't know how it was done. When the magicians realise that they haven't fooled Penn and Teller, they're not disheartened, but seem really appreciative of the opportunity they've been given. The fact that the magicians are allowed to upload the videos on their own youtube channels speaks volumes. I understood Penn's code in this video - how the cards were forced, how the telephone was drawn really quickly (too quickly for Abby to have actually drawn it while they were watching), but it was a really delightful performance and I hope that Abby continues to develop her magic skills.

The forced cards were done smart. The bottom of thr telephone is the wagon
@SgtJoeSmith3 жыл бұрын
@@markchinguz4401 yes that's why Penn made comment. And like guy above said.... Electric stepper motors inside. Button on side or rfid. The phone was drawn but not from her turning knobs. Hit different button or something to draw wagon while shaking or after setting it down. The cards shown were forced and not cards they picked. That's for sure. I may be over thinking rest. Maybe she legit drew phone and some other way of making pre drawn wagon reappear. The pen and teller picture was amazing. Good performancr
@markchinguz44013 жыл бұрын
@@SgtJoeSmith I think she drew the phone to be honest. If it's a force she can practice drawing the phone quickly
@SgtJoeSmith3 жыл бұрын
@@markchinguz4401 yeah that what I been thinking. I watched etch a sketch disassembly video today. Penn said she actually drew it herself and she said yes. Some people can draw nice pictures fast from years practice. I don't think anything electronic like some think. Penn would 've heard stepper motors. I'm stuck inn the wagon. Though shape and position has something to do. It couldn't be drawn until it was held upright. Or tell she stopped shaking. Though she shook unusually long time. But that could be attempt to through them off. Maybe a string same color as aluminum dust stuck to back of screen that she pulled off fast when picking it up to reveal wagon. Cause pen and teller image. Was also above where wagon was. Like the bottom was rigged so she couldn't draw below certain point. Gray string would blend with the dust.

Very nice performance with some original creative work. My favorite part is that as far as I can tell, she never told a lie. We certainly drew our own false conclusions, but she didn't tell us something false. For example, she never said this is the toy/card you picked, just to remember "this" toy. If we drew the false conclusion we picked it, that is on us.
