I caught one 12" mangrove snapper and three red grouper. Altogether the 4 of us caught 2 mangrove snapper, 2 lane snapper, and 6 grouper that were legal keeping size. We caught quite a few more, but they had to be released. The gulf was rough that day, but we had a good time...thank goodness for Dramamine!

I have that same combo. Penn 3 on a 8000 live liner.

I believe I have 70# on it. I use braid, so it casts pretty well.
