You play with what you got. Simple, you win or lose with the players on the field. No excuses.

Ohio State can get a rule changed in a week, but Marshall gets cheated out of a bowl pay. And no one blinks an eye. THINGS NEED TO CHANGE.

This is the problem with opening the transfer portal nearly immediately after the regular season is over. Changes need to be made with the portal. One of two options should be done to make the changes. One option is to not open the transfer portal until after the bowl games or the playoffs,. The other option is to open the portal like they do now, but require the players entering the portal to remain with the team that they are leaving until after bowl games or playoff games are over.

How about making the players fulfill their obligations for the ENTIRE season, including bowl games and playoffs? If they’re getting paid, that should be an obligation.

They can put a contingency in the contracts. I'd like to see the transfer portal to not be open until the season is over

@ I’m all for the players having control over their destiny and financial futures. There’s a lot of money at stake now for the players, which is great. But you don’t see professional players opting out of playoff games because they’re gonna be free agents at the end of the season.

What team use's a player who doesn't want to be on the team?

Imagine having a shot to win a Natty and saying, "No that is okay I have better things to do.". Opening the portal before the end of the playoff season does not seem good for college football's popularity

I understand "When ya gotta go, ya gotta go!" Never played college sports but some times you just gotta get out of Dodge. You don't know what kind of things are going through those players' minds. If you want to play in the NFL, you need to look at the information you have and see if there is another program that can help you in your ever so limited college career. There is money to be made who can fault someone for trying to do the best for his future. I just watched a Duck who hadn't played left at the same time the Ducks got someone else. It's business.

Used to love betting parley cards college and pro football, made games more fun. Until saw a pro game, QB dove for a fumble , his fumble a yard away, must have not known moved camera angle shortly before. Never bet since.

I haven't bet since Penn State vs Oregon in the Rose Bowl 30 years ago.

Another point of view might be that a lesser team may figure they will pull an upset and thus get a shot in the arm in recruiting the next season. The lesser bowls just got a smidgen more interesting, right? A team that figured to lose and finish 7-7, wins the upset over a bigger named team and goes 8-6.

As for the Penn State situation: This is why Michigan didn’t do so well this year because they were on the path of winning the national championship and when they won it- the transfer portal was closed. Thus, Ohio State was able to pour money into the transfer portal and tried to beat Michigan- well you know what happened there. GO BLUE!

if a player enters the portal but doesn't enroll elsewhere that player can still play at the school he's transferring from until the season is over, right?

And don't think so, you don't know much about people and $, any player finishing game, then goes to portal, you can bet he got paid bigtime to finish that game, or was love for their university ?
