The coaching match-up that may never again happen for as long as college football exists. Where the two head coaches going at it may have been legendary, the bowl draw for Penn State fans almost seemed to be a slap in the face to go against an 8-4 team from the ACC. But it was without question, the two best teams this year were playing each other in the Rose Bowl, and the Nittany Lions were on the outside looking in. Nonetheless, this game had seemingly everything to it, and the Seminoles came to play. There was plenty of hype, the coaching match-up, great offensive plays, great defensive plays, great special teams plays, in game storylines that affected the narrative, unlikely heroes, and key injuries. And then of course the three overtimes it took for the Blue and White to solidify and complete the magic of the 2005 season.
