Been in magic for over 40 years and worked with some of the best minds in magic from Weber, Regal, etc to put 7 seasons of the Carbonaro Effect on tv. Yet I have never seen anything like this. And we did some incredible magic on that show. I am clueless as to how this works. Amazing that I can be fooled after all these years. Thanks for giving me that feeling of seeing magic again.

I have idea how he made it and i wrote my theory but i deleted it because i remembered something Dave Chappelle said in his standup - "Taking a man's livelihood away from him is akin to killing him". So i don't want to potentially ruin his trick for him because not knowing how its done makes it magical for others and makes them happy. Hope he keeps up good work and he has great time doing.

I'm with Penn. It's just so nice to see a trick, just the trick, pure and simple. No big presentation, no music, no pomp, just the trick speaking for itself. Also beautiful and sympathic presentation, like a favorite uncle waving you over "hey, I'm gonna show you something cool".
@dismalthoughts2 жыл бұрын
So many tricks _have_ to include a plot because the actual trick is too trivial/commonplace, like a force or using a thumb writer. If you were to just do such a trick with no performance, it'd be pretty boring. This trick needs no fancy presentation because it stands on its own as intriguing and mind blowing as it is unique.

I spent 20 years in live special effects sometimes in the capacity of helping magicians. I somewhat disliked working with stage magicians (Vegas headliners) because it ruined some magic for me; I prefer to stay in awe and work out in my head how tricks are performed. Mark, I gotta hand it to ya! Your presentation was phenomenally honest and indeed welcome in the age of flash and circumstance. HOWEVER, I am totally blown away by the X Candle trick… Can’t figure it out either…. Thanks for keeping magic real! I’d love to see your show one day!

The clincher was, after the trophy, Teller putting his hand over the candle and flinching. Great performance.

A fellow performer here Mark, and I have so much good to say about this, it's going to have to be a list! - first of all, what a lovely energy you have - so personable, and so obviously enjoying the magic yourself. There's no better place to start a magic trick than with a likeable, enthusiastic performer. - secondly, I love original magic. I've never seen this before, and it's Xcellent (HoHo!). - also, like P&T, I love the clear, crisp presentation. No fluff, just fun! I think that should be the slogan on your business card! Thank you Mark for making my day with this perfect presentation. I'm over the moon that you won a trophy!

Strange sound. Thought my tv was on the blink, but I didn’t blink through the trick and it was the most amazing magic I’ve ever seen. The decision to involve Alyson was scary and Teller looked very concerned. The decision to bring down her unprotected hand so Alyson could confirm the heat was a master stroke. Of all the tricks I’ve seen in the series which appeared impossible, THIS appears to be the most impossible of them all.
