Did you happen to find this in NW PA? I know a few places around there that I've found garnets in pegmatite that seems very similar to the host rock you found

@@JayDrone Cool! I found mine in glacial till, I wonder if yours was pushed down by the glaciers too. Although I know pegmatite can be found natively in SE PA
