2:16 is the "edgar thompson works" its the only remaining traditional steel mill in Pittsburgh.

The time of the video shows where the slow part of the trip is. You spend 9 minutes going from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg, and then 6 minutes for the rest of the trip which is about 65% of the distance. Not surprising since Amtrak owns the rails between Harrisburg and NY, and all of it is high speed rail, with speeds up to 110 (Diesel)-125 (electric) mph that distance, but a max of 70 mph when not in the Allegheny Mountains near Pittsburgh. Thanks for sharing (will be doing this trip myself later this year).

There was a report that Amtrak wanted to reconfigure Pittsburgh so that they could attach some cars from the Pennsylvanian to the Capitol Limited but I guess they dropped it. Pittsburgh Station is a far cry from what it used to be. I think at one time up to the 70s it actually had like 12 tracks. Now it only has about 5.

That's more than a 39 inch seat pitch. More like 50 or so because it is an Amfleet II. The 39 inches would be in an Amfleet I (the shorter distance coaches with less legroom and no leg rests)

don't know if I have asked you this,do you know how long the layover is in new York while enroute to Orlando,florida? I have heard its roughly a hour,but I have also heard it can be up to 1hr,and 30 min?

If you go from Pittsburgh you are better of switching trains in Philadelphia instead of having to backtrack to philly. at philly there is just a 2hr layover between the Pennsylvanian and the Silver Meteor. Not exactly a lot of wiggle room if the Pennsylvanian is late (which it rarely is).

@@kevinhoward9593 my thoughts are only if the train left,and since it goes past the station square,either in front or in back,and i will have to wait to find that out,i am happy that i do know this,but even more so,seeing the trains leaving the station and wondering if they cross over or stay on the same side as the station

i am aware of the time the train leaves,i am also aware of it being a east then south side departure,what I don't know is how many times during the week it does leave
